INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS HAPPENING NOW!!!!
Parkwood Junior Boys take district 25 title this morning by beating NSN 7-4. UP NEXT sectionals in Missouri City on July 17th. Go Parkwood.
Parkwood 9/10 year old team finished as runner up to Heights Norhill in the international tournament. They played great and we can't wait to see what they can do next year!!!!

Spring 2009 Baseball was a huge success with over 325 children participating this year.
We look foward to seeing you for fall ball 2009 or spring ball 2010. We are going to have another great year as Parkwood's boundaries are now set and we will continue to build on this years success.
ALSO PLEASE TAKE NOTE THAT PARKWOOD STARTED ANEW DIVISION THIS SPRING AND WOULD LIKE TO START ANOTHER NEW DIVISION SOON!!
1. We had a 4 year old division for Spring, but for Fall Ball 2009, any child (boy or girl) that turns 5 before April 30, 2010 will be eligible to play.
2. We are also trying to field a challenger team or teams at Parkwood this year for the first time, and we will be looking for player buddies and players age (5-18) for that new division as well. We also are looking for a new board member, or volunteer coordinator to help with logistics and planning for those games in the spring. If interested in the position please drop us a line. Saturday, July 4
Over the last week Parkwood Little League Junior Boys have been working towards a Junior District 25 title.
Last Monday night they started their title run by beating NHN (North Houston National) 12-3 in a game that featured 5 different pitchers for Parkwood. Contributions came for all hands as Parkwood got off to a great start.
Next up on Wednesday the 1st of July was a game against arch rival Huffman. Parkwood came to play however, behind the strong Left Arm of Darian Chandler who threw a complete game for Parkwood, and the team won 12 - 3. However, even in a win some negative things can happen and unfortuanete incident between a players parent and coach Portillo threatened the teams chemistry. We will not go into details but one player was lost to the team, and the game site for the first championship game on Friday night was moved to the Huffman facility.
Friday Night the 3rd of July - Parkwood takes the field against NSN (Northside National) and has a horrible night defensively. The NSN team lead by 2 home runs from Paul Page sting Parkwood little leage with 8 runs in the 1st inning and never look back, taking the game 19-9 in six innings.
This forced a deciding game on the 4th of July at Parkwood Little League. The game started at 10AM in the morning, and Darian Chandler took the ball for the good guys. He pitched well giving up on 5 hits in 6+ innings before giving was to a reliever. The team supported him with solid defense and a five run first inning with big hits coming from several team players. Chris Portillo came into to pitch in the sixth inning with a three run lead 7-4, but with NSN having the bases loaded and 1 out. He proceeded to strike out the next two batters to get Parkwoood out of the jam, and then retired the side in order in the Seventh for the District title.
Next up Sectionals in Missouri City on July 17th, 2009.
