Parkville Rec Community:

Happy New Year and I hope all is well as we enter this new decade. I am writing for a few reasons. First to remind you of the meeting tommorrow night  (01/20/2010) 8pm at Parkville Rec Center, as many you still need to attend at least 4 meetings between now and June. Second, please forward this invitation to all the members on your email list so they are now invited to attend the meeting. Third, I want you to reflect seriously about the importance of Parkville Rec in the community, and how this directly relates to your quality of life. This Rec Council requires people with community spirit to move it forward. In the past few months, I have gently reminded everyone of two opportunities for service. We are still looking for nominees for the Executive Board. I have been extremely impressed with the collegiality and dedication of this group. We need more good people. Secondly, if we are going to give scholarships, we have to raise money. We proposed doing a bull roast--but the silence has been deafening. I find it hard to believe that this is not an important issue in our community, so I am going to assume that this is just a case of "someoneelsewilldoititis" There is no one else--we are a community. We have an identity which we are proud of.  We are all busy. There are not enough hours in the day--but it does get back to answering this simple question----Is my quality of life improved by being a member of this community; and if so, how can I help improve it further.

I am looking forward to seeing you at the meeting.
