Gearing up for the 2015/2016 Season

Welcome to the Parkland Community Basketball website for basketball in the Parkland County, Spruce Grove, and Stony Plain area of Alberta, Canada. This year we celebrate our 24th year as a community basketball program and we are looking forward to another great season this year!

If you aren't familiar with our league, it is a recreational, co-ed league for kids grade 2 through grade 12 (born 1998-2008). Each team has a weekly practice during the week and a refereed league game on Saturday. All registered players are placed on a team and all receive equal playing time.

All divisions run from September until end of February, except the Juvenile (grade 10-12) division that only runs until end of November. We do not do any fund-raising although we are looking for volunteers in a variety of positions including coaches, assistant coaches, division coordinators, team managers. Registration fees are $200 per player or $400 per family. As the juvenile division runs a short season, fees for this division are $100 per player. There will be a $25 per player late registration fee for all who register after September 11.

We are now on Facebook. Check us out and like us at

Edmonton Youth Basketball Association Option- Parkland Pride

For those that are looking for a higher level of play, the League will be sponsoring teams to play in the Edmonton Youth Basketball Association. Anyone who has played on a Parkland Community Basketball team in the past is eligible to try out. If there is enough interest teams would be organized for U13, U15 and U17 ages. All interested players would be contacted to attend tryouts before the PCBL Evaluations. If chosen for a team, the player would not be eligible to play in the PCBL. Anyone who does not get chosen for a Pride team would be play on a PCBL team as per normal.

Fees paid to PCBL would be used by the Pride teams as partial payment for EYBA fees. Exact costs would be determined after the teams are organized. EYBA teams are not co-ed, and are more competitive than PCBL. Practices would be in Spruce Grove and games are in Edmonton. If they play A division, games are on Tuesday or Wednesday. Divisions B-E games are played on Saturday. Parents may volunteer to coach the teams. U13 and U15 teams play from October to March. U17 teams play from Oct.-Nov. If there are further questions about this option, please contact Jason Ouellette at
