STARS WINS LOUISVILLE JAGUARS "BLUEGRASS OPEN"
CONGRATULATIONS STARS for winning the 2009 Louisville Jaguars "Bluegrass Open". The STARS went 6-0 to bring home the hardware in the 13/U Division. The STARS won their pool by defeating the Springfield All Stars, Sacred Heart, and the Louisville Select teams by double digits. Out of pool play, the STARS went up against the Louisville press and defeated them by a score of 42-32. In the semi-final game, the STARS faced the host team, the Louisville Jaguars and defeated them 59-44. In the Championship game, the STARS faced a very talented and athletic Louisville Sting and defeated them by a score of 43-30. GOOD JOB GIRLS!!!!
FUND-RAISING
We are constantly involved in fund-raising efforts and seeking sponsorships to help achieve our goal. Again, we are strictly a non-profit organization. A sponsorship would help fund the endeavors of our girls and achieve our goal of reaching the AAU and YBOA National Tournament.
HISTORY
Widely recognized as one of Kentucky's premier basketball clubs, the Paris Stars was founded in 1997 by Andwele French. Eight 2nd grade girls and their teacher embarked on a journey that would eventually bring them to the forefront of Kentucky Girl's Basketball. Monday, March 7

Our basketball program is based on a simple philosophy. We DEMAND that our players be counted on everyday to represent the ideals of a Paris Star basketball player: 3D - DISCIPLINE, DEDICATION, and DESIRE ... We are committed to assisting our athletes in improving their individual basketball skills by providing knowledgeable coaching with the opportunity to play WITH and against the highest levels of competition. A Paris Star is a player who is dedicated to both her individual improvement and the development of the team. PARIS STARS ARE THE 2009 KY STATE CHAMPS!
PARIS STARS WINS THE 2009 KY STATE DISTRICT QUALIFIER! Congratulations to Coach French and the Paris Stars for taking 1st place in the 2009 KY State Tournament. The girls' went through pool play by defeating the West KY Showstopper 50-38 and the Louisville Jaguars 52-35. In the semi-final game, the girls' went up again longtime rival the Central KY Angels and defeated them by a score of 41-29. In the CHAMPIONSHIP GAME the girls' played with great intensity to overcome a hard fought game by beating a very talented KY Blast team, 53-44. Great game ladies and on to NATIONALS! |
