Dance Team Parents' Meeting - Wednesday, March 28 at 7:00 PM

HOW OUR FUNDRAISING WORKS....
We have an account at P.C. that is designated for cheerleading/dance teams. All monies are deposited with the school, and all checks are written by the school.
FIRST -
   We track the money we raise, by girl, with a seperate set of books kept by Mike and Elaine Matarazzo. Example 1- If your daughter sells 10 - five dollar tickets to the car wash, her "account" is credited $50.00. Example 2- The profit from the 1 box of candy is $27, she sells 6 boxes of candy. Her account is credited $162.
SECOND -
   We put together a list of the costs for Nationals and determine how much it will cost each girl. Let's say Nationals will cost $800. Eveyone who will attend must put down a non-refundable $100 deposit. Then we determine a date that every "account" must equal $300. If your daughter has participated in the fund-raisers, and has $200 in her "account", your payment for that date would be 0. If she had only raised $100, you would make a payment of $100. Another date is set - apx. 1 month later - and we determine all accounts must equal $500 by that date, again-if she has the fundraising money in her "account" your payment is 0, otherwise you pay the amount needed to bring her "account" balance to $500.
This system allows parents to make the choice of which fundraisers (if any) they want to participate in. Time after time we have been approached by parents who say they would rather just pay then have to sell the candy and the tickets and do all the other things. This account system allows for both those who wish to pay and those who wish to fundraise.

Parents' Meeting Minutes of 1/17/01
Per Mike M. (# 1 to 6)

1. Cheerleader/dancer accounts information was mailed to everyone. Balances need to be $650 by 1/29. And $750 by 2/12. Anyone needed to review their account, please communicate with Mike M.

2. Final total is not determined yet for the trip. It is expected to be around $750.

3. If total is less then $750, balances overpaid can be used to pay for sneakers (which were ordered today) or can be carried over to the Parent's Trip Account.

4. Sneakers were ordered today for competition. Sizes were taken from cheerleaders. Price is approx. $40, give or take.

5. T-Shirt Fundraiser beginning today. It will have advertisers names printed on the back. Choices are "Partners"($100 or more donation) and "Sponsors"($50 to $100). Form and money must be given to Heather by 2/1/01. Shirts will be printed within a few days for sale. All cheerleaders/dancers will receive 1 tee and they will receive credit (minus shirts &printing costs) towards their trip. For questions or forms, see Coach Heather.

6. Discussed Flight info to San Antonio. Continental Airlines, leaving Newark around 5 PM. More info will be posted on the PC-news site.

If want to buy a 3-button unisex shirt, customized with Paladin on one side and your name (optional) on the other, please let Mike M. know immediately. Cost is $22.50. (Great to wear in San Antonio.

Per Coach Heather: (#'s 7 to end)

7. Competition Saturday 1/20 is in Connecticut. Directions are posted on PC-News site. Varsity Dance/Varsity Cheer/JVCheer will be competing.

8. JV Dance will compete in Lyndhurst on Sunday, 1/21.

9. Varsity Cheer practice for 1/17 is at 6:30 (Setan Hall Coach will be attending)

10. Bags were discussed and shown. Smaller then expected. Apologies were made. Company will not change them because they were customized.

11. Have extra socks and bloomers if needed. See a coach for them.

12. No practice or competition the week of January 22nd due to Mid-Terms.

13. Looking for a competition for Feb. 3rd.

14. No competitions for weekend of 2/11

15. Weekend of 2/17 - Saturday - Queen of Peace   &   Sunday - Either Just Cheer or Cheer Academy.

16. Weekend of 2/24 - Saturday - Lakeland competition

17. Weekend of 3/2 - NATIONALS - SAN ANTONIO

18. March 11th - States Competition - Central Hunterton HS - All 4 teams.

19. March 18th - Fairleigh Dickenson University Competition.

All dates and competitions are tentative and subject to change.

Parents Meeting Sept. 28th-Minutes
1. The next parents meeting will be Oct. 26th at 7:30pm

2. Competitions - we are looking to compete once in November and once in December before the Holiday break. The Sacred Heart Competition in Conn. is 1/28.

3. The October practice schedule is posted. Sunday practices have been added for Varsity teams.

4. Reviewed Homecoming Dance. Sold over 500 tickets, still have outstanding receipts, so we don't have a profit number yet.

5. Upcoming Fundraisers-
    Spaghetti Dinner-Sunday Oct. 29th - Cheerleaders and dancers will be scheduled to work. Parents needed for before, during and after - will be contacted by Irene Marty. To offer help, or for more tickets, call Irene Marty 201-507-9098.
    Babysitting Day for parents to go shopping. SOmetime in December. Children must be at least 3 years old. Waiting approval and date.
    Snowflake Invitational Cheerleading Competition on Dec. 1st.
    Breakfast with Santa-First Sunday in December. Costs will be higher then last year because we have to buy the ood.

6. General Fund balance and uses will e discussed by Coach Messer at the next meeting.

7. Nationals Trip-Cheerleading
    All cheerleaders accounts must equal $300 by Saturday. Call Mr Matarazzo if you have any questions or problems.

    All extra seats with the team plane have been booked by parents (all being held with deposit). Call Angie at 973-779-6181 if you want to be put on the waiting list. Hotel information will be sent within the next few weeks as well as bus/car information. Please remember when turning in money for a "parents" trip, please mark your envelope as such so the money does not get mixed up with your daughters.

Dance Nationals Update - we have reserved 50 tickets on Spirit Airlines for Friday morning in April. Some of these seats will be available to parents who wish to travel with the team. Please call Angie Colditz at 973-779-6181 to make arrangements to put down a deposit. Hotel details should be available around Oct. 15th (if everyone has turned in their deposit) Qualifier for Nationals is Dec. 10th in Sewell NJ.
