A Parents Guide to New York City Public Schools
Looking for a good public school in New York City? Get statistical profiles on every school in the city. Dont like the school to which your child is assigned? Get tips on how to transfer to one you like better.
Public School Reports is an authoritative, independent on-line guide offered by Advocates for Children of New York. We tell you what your neighborhood school is like, what your alternatives are, and how to navigate the bureaucracy to find the best school for your child. We are not part of the Board of Education. Our data about schools comes from the Board of Education, but our descriptions are based on our own reporting and assessment of schools.

Mission Statement
"Our Road To Knowledge Is Paved With Discovery."
Our goal is to provide opportunities which will encourage all students to become lifelong readers and writers. The Discovery School is based on the proposition that children are seekers of meaning.
Our mission is to provide learning experiences that harness a childs inquisitive nature to explore and discover.
Our teachers engage children in investigations selected from age-appropriate themes in the natural and social sciences.
Our children are provided with opportunities to identify their interests and develop their multiple intelligences in a child centered, risk free atmosphere which encourages questioning, team work, and respect for the individual.
Independence, confidence and the ability to identify and solve problems are anticipated outcomes
for all of our students.
