Lakehead Minor Hockey League: Welcome

Playoff formats were confirmed by the LMHA board at November's meeting and the breakdown for each division is posted under Playoff Formats as found on the left menu bar.

Playoff schedules up to March 11 have been entered for all divisions.  Select Playoff Schedules on the left menu bar.  Playoffs will pick up again on the last day of spring break, Sunday March 21.

 Note that the standings on this site are not official and that the league will confirm the standings via this site by February 22 at the latest.

Further to the LMHL meeting last night, there appears to be a need to clear up what constitutes "double-shifting".  In a nutshell, a player must sit a full 2-minute shift on the bench before she/he can go back on the ice. 

That means if you pull the goalie, you can not send on a player who was on the previous shift as he/she has not sat on the players bench for a full 2-minute shift.  That also means that if you are playing with 10 skaters, there is no point in pulling the goalie as you do not have a player to substitue for him/her. 

It has also come to our attention that there are situations where a coach of one team is agreeing to let the opposing team double shift some players because that team is short players.  That is not permitted.  According to the guidelines, no player can be double shifted, and if that means a team only has 4 players on the ice for certain shifts, then that unfortunately is the way is has to be.  Coaches can not agree to disregard the double shifting rule.  If the  guideline of 13 skaters per team had been adhered to, this would not have been an issue. 

Novice

There will no longer be warm-up before Novice games.  Teams are to go straight to their benches except for the starting five.

Atom

There will only be a one minute warm-up prior to Atom games--A and AA.

This website is intended to provide access to the schedules, scores and standings for all divisions that play under the banner of  the LMHA. The schedules and standings are posted for the 5 divisions that are involved in the interlock schedule—Novice, Atom A and AA, and Peewee A and AA.  

Please note that in order for the site to be successful and beneficial to all, the scores for each game need to be emailed in.  I do not receive the game sheet that the timekeepers faxed in and therefore can not enter a score for games where teams do not email me the score.   As in previous years, I need each team to appoint a team representative,(coach/manager/parent) that will email the score to me, win or lose, home or away, for every game they play. This will ensure that there are two independent submissions for each game, which in turn will provide verification of the scores.   The time frame 48 hours should be enough time for that rep to take the time to send the score.
