2004 Palmdale Baseball Juniors Wins Sections

PALMDALE - Ryan Smith pumped his fist and ran toward the dugout as the final out was recorded. The first baseman and his Palmdale Little League Junior All-Star team had just won the Section 2 championship with a 14-4 victory over Canyon Country at Dominic Massari Park. Palmdale will begin the Area playoffs in San Juan Capistrano this week.
Smith, who was 2-for-3 and drove in four runs, helped Palmdale open up a 7-0 lead in the first inning when he launched a three-run homer to left off Canyon Country pitcher Joey Prince.
Second baseman Andy Arriaga went 4-for-4 with a double and three runs batted in and center fielder Mark Perez was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI for Palmdale, which has won all eight of its postseason games.- Play Division at San Juan Sports Park, on Sat 24 Jul
