Congradulations 2009 Senior Gators, District 2 Champions
The Senior Gators held on to beat defending champs, Palm Bay West, to win the 2009 District 2 Baseball Championship 11-10. Congradulations!!!
The Junior Dodgers took 2nd place, at District 2, dropping to West Melbourne Red Sox 4-3 in the 9th inning.
The Gators and Dodgers completed their near perfect seasons with only one loss each.
These 2 teams represented Palm Bay East Little League with great teamwork, sportsmanship and ability throughout the season. Thus setting a good example to our younger players, who saw them play. Thank you and congradulations to both teams for your outstanding play throughout the entire season, hope to see you next year.

Fall Ball 2009
With the 2009 fall baseball season just around the corner, I just wanted to pass on some league information to the community. The season will start Septembet 26, 2009 and run through November 14, 2009. Each team will be scheduled for 2 games per week. Practices will start near the end of August/ beginning of September.
The fall ball season has been designed to be a "training and development" season since there are no standings or tournaments. This is highly beneficial for new players and players moving up to the next division. The is also an ideal time to work on the mechanics and fundamentals of the game. The thought process behind this is by "teaching" the game in the fall, the kids will play better in the spring (including tournaments). NEW for this fall season, a training and development season for tee ball and machine pitch at Palm Bay East Little League. Once a week the entire division, tee ball or machine pitch, will be scheduled to meet with all coaches from that division. Example, on Monday, all players from division "A" will meet at 6:00 pm on field #2. The coaches set up stations (hitting, fielding, throwing, etc.) and rotate groups of players from station to station. This should allow for more time to work on more skills.
Also NEW for the fall season will be "clinics" for parents, coaches and, hopefully, umpires. Divisional clinics will be scheduled for parents and coaches to go over rules ,established by Little League, that have been institued by PBELL. The umpire clinic will be used to train and certify prospective umpires. Anyone who would like to volunteer and umpire games please contact the league President at rlh1663@yahoo.com.
Volunteers are needed to assist in various areas of the league. Remember, volunteering is not punishment for you but you supporting your child as well as the league in general. The way I see it, if your child sees you getting involved in a positive manner, this will have a positive effect on his/her character. Throughout the season, volunteers will be needed for the concession stand (team moms will schedule). Other areas needed are game announcers (announcers can be parents, grandparents, high school or college students who are looking for community service credit, etc), scorekeepers, UMPIRES (male or female, high school or college).
Thank you for your support to the kids and the league. I look forward to seeing everyone this coming season. Robert Hardy, President PBELL, rlh1663@yahoo.com.

PBELL League Parents
Local Little Leagues are entirely volunteer organizations. Each league depends on adults like you to organize and conduct every aspect. Not only do adults serve as administrators, volunteer coaches, and umpires they also help with field maintenance, fund-raising, concessions, and numerous other special projects.
Your willingness to exchange time and effort for your child's benefit and enjoyment is very important to the functioning of your local Little League. Cheering your daughter or son on from the stands is one important way to be involved, but we invite you to do even more by volunteering to help run your local Little League program.
Without a doubt, Little League is a family affair that gives parents and children a common ground for spending time together. Whether you are coaching the players, selling hot dogs to the fans, or bringing snacks for the team after the game, your family will enjoy being a part of Little League in your community. Most of all, your child will appreciate the benefits of your enthusiasm and involvement in his or her activities.
When winning is kept in perspective, there is room for fun in the pursuit of victory or more accurately, the pursuit of victory is fun. With your leadership Little League can help your child learn to accept responsibilities, accept others and most of all, accept her - or himself.
