Palma Ceia Little League: PCLL News: All Star Tournament Update - One Team Still Competing
All Star Tournament Update - One Team Still Competing
Back in June we sent 8 teams to compete in Little League’s annual All Star tournament. Four teams won district titles; three sectional titles, and one has emerged from the state tournament to continue playing in the US Sothern Regional Tournament…
Coach Ed Sutton continues the winning tradition in Junior Softball in South Tampa earning a consecutive state title for the program. This combined team of Palma Ceia, Tampa Bay, and Interbay Little Leagues beat Naples last weekend at Citrus Park 1 – 0. Three girls from last year’s World Series team – Sarah Miller, Alexis Jackson, and Ashton Hill – made significant contributions in the win. The team will begin US Southern Region play on August 8th in Fort Myers.
Our Major Softball team came up a few runs short in the state championship final against Windermere, losing 3 -1. It was a tough loss for Coach Valdes and the girls having beat Windermere a few days earlier 5 – 2 in pool play.
The 10/11 Softball team lost in the semi-finals in state competition in Windermere. It was a great run for Coach Schifino and his girls.
We’ll keep you posted on the Junior Softball team’s run through Southern Region play – and don’t forget that Fall Ball registration starts on line on August 1st.
