All Star Tournament Update

Of the 4 teams that competed in sectional play, 3 have won the tournament and are advancing to the state tournament this coming weekend –

9/10 Baseball – Coaches McCray and Shields and their boys should be very proud of their accomplishments finishing second among strong competition.  They finished 2- 1 in the sectional, dropping their opening game to the eventual section champion East Lake Little League.  Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents for a great tournament run.

10/11 Softball (TB/PC/IB combined) Softball – Coaches Schifino and Krone went 2 – 0 with both wins by a 10+ run margin to clean up against the District 5 opponent.  This team moves on to compete for a state title this weekend at Windermere Little League near Orlando.  Last year’s 10/11 team won the state title and we’re pulling for these girls to do the same.

11/12 (Major – PC/TB/IB combined) Softball – Coaches Valdes and Scott took their girls to a 3 – 0 record in sectional play allowing just one run the entire tournament.  This cohesive group of girls heads south to Coconut Creek Little League to compete for a state title – the state champion advances to Regionals in West Virginia.

13/14 (Junior – TB/PC/IB combined) Softball – Coaches Sutton and Osborn also went 3 - 0 in the sectional tournament allowing just 2 runs scored against.  This team will be back in action at the state tournament at Citrus Park Little League starting this weekend.  Our 2008 squad advanced to the Junior League World Series and this team has the potential to do the same.

Good luck to all for a safe and successful run at state titles.
