Palma Ceia Little League: Welcome
Mission - In a safe and park-like setting, provide baseball and softball instruction to young athletes; teaching the importance of winning the game while, at the same time, building character, instilling sportsmanship, and providing a forum to learn valuable life lessons; and allowing volunteers to contribute to the community in important and meaningful ways.
The Spring Jamboree is Palma Ceia Little League’s FREE event to celebrate the beginning of the 2010 baseball and softball seasons. This FREE event will be held on SUNDAY, JANUARY 24th from 11:30 am – 7:00 pm and feature FREE instruction for boys and girls, ages 4 – 14, provided by the University of South Florida and University of Tampa Men’s baseball teams. Guest speakers include current Chicago Cubs pitching coach Larry Rothschild, University of South Florida men's baseball head coach Lelo Prado, University of Tampa men's baseball head coach Joe Urso, University of Tampa women's softball head coach Leslie Kanter and former New York Yankee Pitcher Sam Militello. There will also be appearances by the Tampa Bay Rays Street Team and the Rays mascot Raymond. In addition, children can compete in the Dick’s Sporting Goods Pitch, Run and Throw Contest for a $5 donation to PCLL. There will be awards for the top-three finishers at each age level (ages 4 – 14) for both boys and girls.
