Nolan's Fund for Autism Research
Aces for Autism
Hi, I am John Holyk, but this site isn't about me. It's about my son, Nolan Holyk. To the outside world Nolan appears to be your usual happy 9 year old boy. Only until you spend time with Nolan do you realize that he has many challenges ahead of him. Nolan was developing well until 18 months of age at that point some internal/ external trigger in his body changed him forever. He went from a vocabulary of 50 words to grunts of anger and frustration. When we first noticed the changes we were told no autism just developmental delays. Eventually after 6 months of retesting we got the diagnosis of Autism mild high functioning. That was at the age of 3 ,when we first entered his world. The past 6 years have seen triumphs and disappointments. we have gone through the gambit of diets bevhaviour interventions,ABA therapy, speech and laguage pathologists etc etc etc. Over those past 6 years we have probably spent over $200,000 on Nolan's needs and his development. We have another child Riley who is now 5 years old and has shown no signs of his brothers disorder. I am writing this not only to seek some possible donations and help for Nolan's condition but also to provide a legacy fund that can not only help Nolan but other children and other people who need the respite andtools that they need to fight this battle. For nolan's sake and the sake of all children afflicted with this disease. we need to find out what damaged our child so future generations and other families can look to that research to help to understand the world and scope of Autism in Society. Can you please give. Storm U 21 hockey Program and Twisters AAA hockey are proud supporters of Autism BC our autism awareness chapter. "Give our children Abilities., they will amaze us all"

Welcome to what was the First and Only Junior Female Program in BC

We were in existance for 4 seasons before our assets were given to the Pacific Steelers to run their program under a junior heading.  You can locate them under the JWHL (junior womens hockey league) or www.pacficsteelers.com

BC hockey changed the rules that governed our division and that forever changed the Landscape of Senior Women's hockey in this province.

AAA Senior women's hockey no longer exists within BC. With only a few Spartan AA teams existing through out the Province and a couple of Single A teams.

A Once proud Division faded into obsurity:

BC Outback

Surrey Twisters

Kilarney Knights

Surrey Storm U-21

Richmond Steelers

Before them:

Delphi Lightning

Delta Jets AAA

Delta Cyclones

Brittania Blues

We had a Strong Division once.

Vancouver Griffins (NWHL) and the New West Royals

Now the WWHL Vancouver Breakers the team that was promoted as BC's only real AAA franchise no longer exists and the WWHL has disolved as an entity.

Who was to blame for this? Well we all have our feelings throughout the Province as to where the blame lies. It lies with a few people that felt their contribution to things was greater than the whole. The sum of their parts was greater than the whole. These people and their selfish, childish desire to only have 1 team in the province at a high performance level destroyed the division and left Women's hockey in BC in a state that it may never recover from.

Congratulations to them as they've now washed their hands of it and are off in other ventures.

In Memory here's a couple of our previous tournaments attended, (Shots with Music.)
