PAC 90 is a U17 Boys team from Northern Virginia that competes in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL). NCSL is comprised of teams from the Washington, DC metropolitan area including those from Virginia and Maryland. The team is coached and trained by Sully Hamid who holds NSCAA Premier Diploma, USSF "A" License, and UEFA "B" License. He also played seven years of professional soccer with the Queenspark Rangers of the English Premier League.
The team was established in the fall of 2006. Even though it was a new team, it was placed in Division 2, because Coach Hamid recruited so many talented players. The team hosts several players in the 1990 and 1991 ODP program.
The team has also chosen to compete in some of the higher level showcase tournaments. They attended the Triangle Friendlies in 2007 and 2008, the Tampa Bay Sun Bowl in 2007 and had a semi final finish at the Baltimore March Madness tournament in 2008. The team also recently competed in the Columbia Invitational tournament on Memorial Day weekend and plans to continue to attend high caliber tournaments in their U19 seasonal year.
Coach Hamid emphasizes team tactics at this age level and trains players to function as a unit preparing them for collegiate level play and beyond. The team trains two to three times a week throughout the year. In addition to year round training, the team attends Premier Athletics Club’s residential summer camp at the Blue Ridge School in St. George, Virginia. This camp is taught by only the highest level coaches from within and outside the United States. The camp staff includes coaches from the Chelsea Football Club in England and college level coaches.
For additional information about Premier Athletics Club and the summer camp, see the PAC website at www.premierac.org. Tryouts will be held during the summer on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Shrevewood Elementary School in Falls Church. For more information, please contact Coach Sully Hamid at premieracsoccer@aol.com.
