Bunnies 1-1 at Regionals

The Owen Sound Living Lighting/Leeder & Associates Extreme Bunnies went 1-1 Saturday at the Regionals. The squad downed Guelph 11-2 with Leah Patchell scoring four times and Taylar Cassidy adding a pair. Sawyer Blake, Morgan Kirk, Alyssa Bobet, Maggie Alguire and Brynna Kirkwood added singles. Owen Sound lost 8-2 to Mitchell with Mae MacNeil and Patchell scoring.

City Novices Finish Fourth

Hayley Morrison scored twice as the Owen Sound E! Embroidery Extreme novices lost 8-4 to Mitchell in the bronze medal game at the Western Region Ringette championships on Saturday. Emily Moore and Rachel Woods added singles. The squad went 0-3 in round-robin play, including a 6-2 loss to London where Bayleigh Beech and Moore scored for Owen Sound. The Extreme also fell 5-2 to Kitchener with Danielle Marriage and Natalie Stephens scoring. Owen Sound lost 5-1 to Mitchell with Marriage netting her squad's lone goal.

Owen Sound Petites Claim Silver

Scott Long scored four times as the Owen Sound Clark Chiropractic Extreme Petites lost 6-5 to London Sunday in the Western Regional Ringette championship final. Sarah Pretty and Marissa Moran added singles. Owen Sound went 2-1 in round-robin play, including a 7-6 victory over London. Long scored four times while Kaitlyn Knox added a hat trick. Owen Sound also defeated Guelph 6-3 with Knox adding another hat trick and Sydney Vermilyea, Carly Stephens, and Long adding singles. The Extreme also fell 4-3 to Forest with Knox scoring twice and Stephens adding a single.

Owen Sound Tweens Win Bronze

The Owen Sound Dr. Dors Optometrists Extreme Tweens downed Elora-Fergus 4-2 Sunday to win the bronze at the 2008 Western Region Ringette championships. The squad finished 2-1 after round-robin play and tied for first with London and Forest, but was sent to the bronze game after losing the tiebreaker by one goal on the goals for/goals against differential. Owen Sound downed London 5-4, defeated Elora-Fergus 5-3 and lost 8-6 to Forest in round-robin play. Skylar LeBlanc led the squad with 11 goals while Britanny Dors and Kelly Long each had hat tricks. Madison Dors, Nicole Miske, and Jacob Plagenz added singles for Owen Sound.

Extreme Win Novice C Silver

            GUELPH- The Owen Sound Living Lighting Extreme Novice C team won the Silver medal at the Western Region Ringette Association regional tournament.

            In round robin play, Owen Sound beat London 8-1 Friday and beat Seaforth 9-6 and tied Elora-Fergus 5-5 Saturday.  The Extreme lost 9-6 to Elora-Fergus in the championship final Sunday.  Kaitlyn Knox netted 13 goals for Owen Sound on the weekend, while Sydney Vermilyea scored six, Carly Stephens netted five and Sarah Pretty added four.
