Hey Boys, great season so far, and there can be so much more to come if you just believe. Once again you guys find yourself at another Section 4 title match. I definitely want to watch some state tournament games with Owego playing so beat M-E and continue the Owego soccer tradition.

Great season so far, boys. I want you all to know that there are three very proud alumni here in Ithaca who really want to watch some state tournament soccer in Oneonta this weekend. The win on Wednesday is the first step; let's make it happen.

Hey Boys great season, sry i couldnt do anything to help you guys out against pittsford,I couldnt have wanted anything more then to see us walk away as champions of the state, but i could never regret the hard work we've done to get to semi-finals, I wouldn't have played a better game of soccer anywhere else then on the field with you guyz, Thanks For The MEMORIES OF PLAYING AS AN OWEGO INDIAN, I KNOW WHENEVER I STEP FOOT ONTO A SOCCER FIELD I AM GOING TO REMEMBER THE BOYZ I GREW UP WITH AND LEARNED TO TRUST AS A FAMILY ON AND OFF THE FIELD. GOOD LUCK TO THE REST OF BOYZ - from Owego Seniors '06

It hurts.

It’s one of the drawbacks of being so good that you’re accustomed to winning. And it’s made worse by being so close to the ultimate goal…being in the SEMI-final…having held the lead for the twelve minutes that seemed like an eternity.

There are a host of roadblocks you can consider – among others, the penalty kick not called, the shot just missed, the star defender on the bench when we needed him most - don’t go there. Or at least, don’t stay. It will only exacerbate the pain. There is zero benefit to be gained. Scottie was lucky – no blessed, protected and courageous – to be able to ATTEMPT play.

Consider instead the strength that you are gaining from this experience. Bear in mind that you have accomplished that which only one other team in the history of OFA Soccer has matched – the NY State Final Four! You may have played most of the season with nagging affliction. You may have played with injury that would have benched most other players. You may have warmed the bench while underclassmen played the field. However large or small your sacrifice, it has paid handsome dividends. Find consolation in the knowledge that you have enabled the brand and magnitude of pride that transcends applicability to yourself. It extends to your friends, your family, your school and the community at large.

Thanks for a FABULOUS season, OFA Soccer Team 2005; and a lifetime of memories!

Mike Fowler (dad)
