The team holds spaghetti suppers on the evenings prior to games. The suppers are great bonding events for the team and a carb load for the following game day.

The girls come to supper right from practice. Typically, they arrive at in-town residences within 20 minutes following practices. They are hungry and in a hurry, so it’s usually a fast and furious event lasting about one hour.

The girls prefer to all sit at one big table, so join tables together if you need to. They’ll even sit on laps and share chairs if they have to but it’s all about one table.

Make clean-up easy. Visit the Dollar Store for cheap tablecloths and supplies.

Plan on feeding at least 12, but more players will join the group as the season progresses. Make enough so you can eat too after they’re gone!

Food Allergy Notice - We do have players with food allergies. Please keep all components separate (chicken, sauces, pastas, etc.) and provide a gluten-free pasta choice.

The usual fare is: pasta (any type), alfredo and red sauces (more prefer alfredo), chicken and/or beef, breadsticks, milk, and maybe a dessert.  You can offer additional items if you want, like steamed broccoli, salad, etc., but the girls are fine with the basics. Get a couple gallons of milk - they’ll go through a lot!

Varsity Parents … please sign up to host at least one spaghetti supper.

Notes on Quantities:

  • From Gina -- We only had 10 girls eat.  I think you would have enough if you cooked 2 lbs. of penne, 2 pounds meat, 1 pound chicken, 2 jars of red sauce and 3 (15 oz) of white sauce, 6 bread sticks, 1 loaf of garlic bread, and 2 bags of ceasar salad.  I had WAY too much- so I just thought I'd send this your way.
  • From Cori - I agree with Gina's measurements for the most part. The girls didn't eat that much ground beef though or red sauce. They went through the 12 oz gluten-free penne and 16 oz of rotini and all the other stuff that Gina mentioned.
