Outlaws win 2nd straight Empire Cup (NYS/Northeast Championship)
The Outlaws have returned from the 2008 Empire Cup in Glens Falls NY as NYS/Northeast Champions for the 2nd straight year. The Outlaws faced off against Nezezon Construction (Massena NY) in the first game winning a tight game 2-1. The Outlaw second game of the first round was against Adirondack Pressure Washing and saw the Outlaws come away with a 4-2 win. After the first round all eight teams were re-seeded with the Outlaws as a #3 seed and facing the Clarkson Flying Hellfish in the elimination round. The Outlaws overpowered Clarkson with a convincing 4-0 win coming on strong in the second half of the game. Based on a forfeit by the Northeast Cougars this put the Outlaws into the championship game against an old rival in the Rouses Point Roadrunners (NY). This game was a hard fought battle and saw the Outlaws score in the first period on a shot by Mike Thompson. The Outlaws faced an onslaught of shots by the Roadrunners as the game wound down and hung on for the 1-0 win. Goaltender Rick Crisafulli faced 8 shots on goal. This tourney concludes the '07-'08 season for the Outlaws.
