ABOUT THE CLUB
The OU Men's Soccer Club is a student organization whose purpose is to offer full time students the highest level of men's soccer possible in the absence of a men's varsity team at OU. We compete in the Oklahoma Collegiate Club Soccer League through the Oklahoma Soccer Association, and in NIRSA (National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association). OU has won the League Championship 5 of the last 11 seasons that they have been a part of the league.
OU Men's Soccer Club offers students an opportunity to play as a representative of the University of Oklahoma against other college teams. Our opponents include Oklahoma State, Univ. of Arkansas, Univ of Tulsa, Univ of Central Oklahoma and Rose State College. Other competition includes potential friendly matches against different Universities in Texas, Kansas, and Missouri.
The level of play is comparable to an elite level youth league team, but a few years older. The speed of play is quick and the players are fit and strong. The team practices twice a week in the late afternoon, and plays fall and spring seasons of weekend games. We will compete in the NIRSA Regional Tournament, with a chance to qualify for NIRSA National Tournament.

OU-Crimson vs. OU-White
Both OU teams played against each other last week in a in-club rivalry match that ended in a 1-1 draw. Both teams came out of the gates with great intensity and played each other hard in a tough, physical game. OU-Crimson struck first as Sooner newcomer Eric Chatou finished on a give-and-go from Pablo Vial. Crimson carried a 1-0 advantage into the first half with neither side completely dominating the run of play. Crimson came out firing in the second half with many scoring opportunities highlited by a volley that rang the crossbar off of the foot of forward Nathan Barry. OU-White goalkeeper Nick "Nancy" Nance was outstanding between the pipes making multiple key saves to keep the White squad in the game. OU-White had its fair share of chances in the second half as well, and, after a few opportunities to score, finally capitalized with Marcin Rutkowski finishing off of a rebound from Bastian Koll's shot. This finish concluded the scoring for the game as it ended 1-1. Both teams' goalkeepers had great games: Nick Nance for the White team and Alex Parker for the Crimson team. Both back lines had solid outings as well; Caleb Prentice, Matthew Niemitalo, Will Estel, Drew Donica, and Tyler Maddox rotating in for the White team and Kyle Crockett, John Krutty, and Jacob Romig playing for the Crimson.
OU takes a team with guys from both squads to the Regional club tournament next weekend in Columbia, Missouri, looking to qualify for the National tournament that will be held in Phoenix, Arizona.
