Putting Our Energy to Good Use

Ontario Power Generation Inc. is an Ontario-based electricity generation company whose principal business is the generation and sale of electricity in Ontario. Our focus is on the efficient production and sale of electricity from our generation assets, while operating in a safe, open and environmentally responsible manner.

As of December 31, 2004 OPG’s electricity-generating portfolio had a total in-service capacity of 22, 790 megawatts (MW). This consisted of three operating nuclear stations with a capacity of 6,103 MW (comprising four units at Darlington, four units at Pickering B and one unit at Pickering A); six fossil-fueled stations with a capacity of 9,718 MW; 35 hydroelectric stations with a capacity of 6,835 MW; and 32 EcoLogoM-certified green power stations (29 hydroelectric and three wind) with a capacity of 133 MW. Two nuclear stations, formerly operated by OPG, are leased on a long-term basis to Bruce Power L.P.

For the first nine months of 2004, OPG generated 82.0 terawatt-hours (TWh) of electricity. Final production figures for 2004 are currently being tabulated.

Ontario Power Generation is committed to enhancing the quality of life in the communities where it operates.

Through its Corporate Citizenship Program, the company provides financial and in-kind support to registered charities and not-for-profit environmental, educational and community organizations whose initiatives reflect OPG’s vision of citizenship and sustainable development.

OPG also annually purchases approximately $1 billion in goods and services from primarily Ontario-based suppliers and in 2002 contributed about $750 million to the province in taxes, dividends and other payments.

GREAT GULF HOMES 2
GREAT GULF HOMES

  3751 Victoria Park Avenue
Toronto, Ontario
M1W 3Z4
YOUR HOME IS A PROMISE.

It's a commitment to provide your family with a space to grow. At Great Gulf Homes, we believe a home

is also part of something larger - it belongs to a neighbourhood where your children feel safe, amenities are close at hand,

and where you can work and play. We build homes to realize dreams. And at Great Gulf Homes, WE BUILD NEIGHBOURHOODS.

OVER A QUARTER CENTURY OF GROWTH

Since 1975, The Great Gulf Group of Companies has grown from a well-known regional homebuilder into an international, fully integrated group of companies. The activities of Great Gulf Homes, Ashton Woods Homes, First Gulf Group and Muskoka Sands span the entire real estate spectrum, from land acquisition and assembly, to the design and construction of thousands of fine homes, high-rise condominiums and resort facilities in master-planned communities throughout North America. A major factor that has fueled the engine of this growth is a corporate commitment to leading edge design...the design of residential communities that offer privacy, prestige and richly rewarding lifestyles...the design of great exteriors with a variety of elevation treatments that harmonize into dramatic, architecturally controlled streetscapes...and the design of spectacular interior spaces that simply take your breath away.

Since our inception, we have adhered to the fundamental philosophy that has brought us so much success: to build better-designed homes in communities that deliver lasting value, and to provide a superior level of service to our customers. And, as we enter a new millennium, The Great Gulf Group of Companies is looking forward to another twenty-five years of successful enterprise.

GREAT GULF NAMED BUILDER OF THE YEAR

Great Gulf Homes has been building great neighbourhoods for over 25 years, and holds the distinction of the 2002 Greater Toronto Home Builders' Association "Home Builder of the Year."

An independent survey of our homeowners was instrumental in receiving this award, and every one of our purchasers surveyed said they'd buy their next home from Great Gulf. Specific comments ranged from "I wouldn't buy from any other builder," to "the Décor Centre is great," "the company has been very helpful and professional," "we were impressed with the Pre-delivery Inspection," and "we were very pleased with their service before our closing and afterwards." Other compliments were received for our attention to exterior design and efficient use of inside space.

Great Gulf regularly counts among our purchasers repeat and next-generation buyers, as well as a growing number of referrals that last year accounted for 20 per cent of total sales. This level of trust is one of the many reasons why we are the third largest builder in Ontario, and why now over 31,000 families call a neighbourhood built by Great Gulf home.

POWER WORKERS' UNION

pw2
The roots of the Power Workers' Union go back to 1944, with the formation of the Employees' Association at Ontario Hydro. Eleven years later, in 1955, the Association became the Ontario Hydro Employees' Union and joined the National Union of Public Service Employees, which merged with the National Union of Public Employees in 1963 to form the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Canada's largest union. Our present name - the Power Workers' Union was adopted in 1993.
The Power Workers' Union is the union of choice for the vast majority of workers in Ontario's Power Production.

Membership of the PWU averaged 15,000 in 2002. Our members work throughout Ontario and make up a large majority of the employees at Ontario Power Generation, Bruce Power, TransAlta in Ottawa, Northwind Power, Mississagi Power, Hydro One and affiliate companies, the Electrical Safety Authority as well as the Independent Market Operator. The union also represents workers at local distribution companies throughout the province, as well as local cable and telephone companies, the County of Brant, Kinectrics, New Horizon System Solutions, Inergi, operators at Atomic Energy of Canada Ltd. as well as casual employees through PWU hiring hall agreements.

The Power Workers now have over 40 Collective Agreements where less than ten short years ago we had only one. The union is led by a President and 3 Vice Presidents who are elected for four-year terms. These officers support and direct an extensive network of stewards throughout the province. In fact, the PWU has one of the highest proportion of stewards to members of any union in Canada - nearly one member in nine is a front-line representative, which accounts for the exceptional degree of solidarity displayed by PWU membership in recent years. The PWU owns its own headquarters in Toronto and maintains a professional support staff of 31.
The Power Workers' Union is affiliated to CUPE. Through CUPE, the PWU is affiliated to the Canadian Labour Congress. The PWU is also directly affiliated to the Ontario Federation of Labour and nearly 50 local Labour Councils throughout the province.

We also have valuable partnerships and jurisdictional accords with the relevant construction unions that work in our industry.

We have partnerships with the Labourers International Union of North America and the Canadian Union of Skilled Workers for the supply of skilled workers to our employers through our Hiring Hall Agreements.

CANADIAN AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION

  Plaza Ten Fifty

Oshawa, Ontario
Proud Sponsor of the Oshawa Ringette House League...

Welcome to today’s Canadian Automobile Association. CAA is a federation of 9 automotive clubs serving about 4.7 million members through 130 offices across Canada. CAA provides a wide range of member services and works to improve travelling and motoring conditions at home and around the world.
Emergency Road Service (ERS)
CAA's Emergency Road Service continues to be a highly valued benefit of membership, and it’s no wonder: whether you need a tow, battery boost, test, or an on-the-spot battery replacement, a tire change or just someone to help you get back inside your car when you're locked out… we'll respond to your call quickly and efficiently.
Now, ERS Online allows members to avoid potential phone queues and touch-tone menus by making on-line requests for emergency road service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. CAA members can be confident that ERS Online is available anytime, day or night.
Approved Auto Repair Service (AARS)
After buying a car, one of the biggest decisions you can make is where to get it serviced. To ensure access to quality work at a fair price, CAA has approved over 2,000 independent garages that meet our very high standards for quality and service.
Members can trust their vehicles to AARS facilities, which all provide a 12 month 20,000 km warranty throughout Canada.
Even more automotive services to choose from!
Now, buying a new car just got easier. CAA members who are in the market for a new vehicle have an online tool – AutoMaker - to help them find the precise vehicle that matches their needs. From the comfort of your home computer, you can choose the make, model, colour, size and options, as well as compare potential choices. Then go ahead and view the manufacturers’ suggested retail prices.
AutoManager helps CAA members with vehicle maintenance by tracking vehicle repair history and providing automatic e-mail reminders when scheduled maintenance is due.
CarFax protects CAA members when purchasing a used vehicle by enabling them to look up the vehicle history through the vehicle identification number to ensure they are getting a peach – and not a lemon.

Since the automobile first hit the roadways, CAA has prepared Canadians for their travels by providing security, value and peace of mind. This is an organization steeped in a History that let us come be known as the motorist’s champion but today’s CAA has expanded into the realm of a Members Service organization. CAA has expanded and updated its traditional advocacy role and array of motoring services. A broad range of quality Insurance products, full Travel Agency services and valuable Loyalty programs all aimed at meeting the needs of anyone who leads a busy mobile lifestyle.
Service is the hallmark of CAA. We know our leadership position depends on quality, dependability, innovation and accessibility. This year we expect to provide more than 1.2 million roadside rescues through our Emergency Roads Service network. More than a million Members will visit on of our 43 stores across Ontario or get the service, product or coverage they need from one of our extended hour call centers. While away from home enjoy full access to service via 1 800 CAA HELP or by visiting any CAA or AAA office across the continent.
