Welcome to the 2009/2010 12 Under Sparks

The 12u Sparks Softball Team recently visited Advocate Hope Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn to donate toys to the children who spend time in the hospital.  The team took a tour of the Keyser Center which is one of the largest outpatient pediatric cancer programs in the Midwest. The children who are given treatments and care at the Keyser Center are afforded the opportunity to choose a toy from the toy box as a reward for their bravery.
The toys are a way to make families cope with everything that is happening in their lives and the children can use the fun and laughter  these toys bring.  The smiles these toys put on the children's faces uplifted the girls from the Sparks softball team and made them thankful for their health and their family.

The Keyser Center is always in need of  new unwrapped toys for the children and is always looking for people to help.  For more information go to: www.advocatehealth.com.

"In the end, it’s extra effort that separates a winner from second place. But winning takes a lot more than that, too. It starts with complete command of the fundamentals. Then it takes desire, determination, discipline, and self-sacrifice. And finally, it takes a great deal of love, fairness and respect for your fellow man. Put all these together, and even if you don’t win, how can you lose?" Jesse Owens

Team Annoucement: Raffle Money Due 12/27/09

The Orland Park Sparks were founded in 1979, and since have developed a tremendous history of providing the best available fundamental instruction, quality competition and exposure for young athletes. The program was founded with honest values and has strived to be not only the best in Illinois, but throughout the Midwest and nation. The Sparks have also been instrumental in providing a venue for tournaments that host several competitive teams. Additionally, many of the Sparks staff have been called upon to be clinicians for coaches, players and umpires. The teams have developed an outstanding tradition nationally, based on success in some of the highest level tournaments. The Sparks teams have made repeated visits to ASA National tournaments at all age levels. The 18U team has made it to Nationals 15 of the last 16 years, highlighted by the 1996 Class A National Championship. Sparks teams have also finished in the ASA Top 10 nationally on six other occasions. Because of the consistent level of success, the Sparks name has become synonymous with high-caliber softball throughout the nation. Good luck to all the Sparks teams in 2010!
