Waters Commits to Wake Forest
Brittany Waters (KB - 03/08/07)   Blue team forward Brittany Waters verbally committed to Wake Forest University yesterday.   Waters becomes the fourth Comets player to commit to an ACC team.

Brittany, a senior, is coming off a stellar high school season in which she led the Edgewater Eagles to the FHSAA 6A state championship and was voted MVP of state tourney.   Brittany averaged 17 points and 8 rebounds this year.    Her performance drew the attention of several majors, including Miami and Rollins, but Brittany's heart was always in North Carolina.     She agreed to sign with the Demon Deacons Tuesday night.

Brittany joined the Comets Red team after her freshman season at Edgewater.   She switched to the Blue team in 2005 and led them to the AAU D2 National championship.   Last summer Brittany's AAU season was cut short by a knee injury so she missed the early signing period.     Her recovery from the injury was slow.   Edgewater struggled early as Brittany found her sea legs.     But after Christmas B-Dub (as she is fondly known) picked up her stride and led the Eagles to an improbable state championship.

Congratulations, B-Dub!!.
