Sasha Chaplin - F

(KB - 10/09/07)    Comets Red forward Sasha Chaplin has verballed to the University of Indiana.     Chaplin, the 2006-2007 Pinellas County Player of the Year, chose Indiana over USF, Western Carolina, Louisville, St. Johns and Temple. 

Chaplin becomes the seventh Class of 2008 Comets Red player to verbal to a major D1 school this year.     Sasha says she chose Indiana after connecting with the coaches and players during her official visit to the school.      She also cited a desire to get away from home.    Indiana is located in the small college town of Bloomington, IN and is most noted for its mens' basketball team.

At Indiana, Sasha will team up with former rival Danilsa Andujar of Team Breakdown.    Danilsa verballed to Indiana recently, too.     She and Sasha are the only Big 10 signees from Florida so far this year.

This commitment leaves Sasha free to have one more shot at the 3A state title as the "go to" player for St. Pete Catholic.
