SPECIAL HONOR AWARDED DISTRICT 9'S ADMINISTRATOR ...

Raleen has been honored with selection as Little League's 2006 Challenger Division Volunteer of the Year and will be a guest of Little League Baseball at the upcoming Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania!

Following is one of the notices received ...

July 6, 2006

Mrs. Raleen Hockenberry
XXXXXXXXXXXX

Dear Raleen,

It has been a pleasure to talk with you regarding the 2006 Little League Challenger award.

As I mentioned, this award is symbolic of the critical need for adult involvement in the Little League program and in a way goes beyond that to underscore the importance of a strong and caring individual. Little League Baseball is delighted that you have accepted this honor and will be our guests in Williamsport to receive the award during the 2006 Little League World Series.

I have drafted a tentative itinerary for your review. All of your travel and hotel expenses related to receiving the award will be incurred by Little League Baseball.

The schedule is as follows:

Wednesday, August 23

Noon: attend Kiwanis Lunch at Genetti Hotel as World Series guests of honor
             Two games at 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

In reviewing the schedule, please keep in mind that you are not required to attend every game. You will need to attend the Breakfast and Kiwanis Lunch. Also, this schedule is tentative and upon your arrival in Williamsport you will receive an updated schedule.

Your involvement with your district and with the Challenger program has laid the foundation for future endeavors for many children in your community and also demonstrated your commitment to your family and your community. Little League Baseball commends you on your efforts.

Again, sincere congratulations on being selected for this distinguished recognition. I am very much looking forward to meeting you at the 2006 Little League World Series.

Sincerely,

Scott Rosenberg
Assistant to the President for Special Projects
