Upper "Divisions" of Baseball
Junior, Senior, and Big League Divisions are a more competitive ball program ... and generally for those more 'serious' about playing the game ... ! Co-ed (but generally boys), players must be ages 12 through 18 as of April 30 of the current season.
Regular season games may include a mix of 'home' and 'away' games, including teams from other areas across Oregon. "Away" games are generally double-headers played on a Saturday or on a Sunday afternoon. Participation is covered by Little League's insurance and follow the safety-focused rules of play laid out by International Headquarters in partnership with the American Sports Medical Association. When regular season play ends, All Star teams may be formed toward 'tournament' and may be made up from a 'mix' of these divisions:
Players in all three of these divisions have the potential of participation in post-season tournaments: District, State, Regional, and/or World Series tournament - based on continuing wins. For 2009, the Junior All Star Oregon State tournament is scheduled to be held in Tualatin. The Senior and Big League All Star Oregon State tournaments are scheduled to be held in Salem. Dates will not be finalized for these tournaments until early May. The Heat is On
