Junior, Senior, and Big League Divisions are a more competitive ball program ... and generally for those more 'serious' about playing the game ... !

Co-ed (but generally boys), players must be ages 12 through 18 as of April 30 of the current season.

  • Junior League Baseball Division is available to players 'league age' 12, 13, and 14.
  • Senior League Baseball Division is available to players 'league age' 14, 15, and 16.
  • Big League Baseball Division is available to players 'league age' 16, 17, and 18.

Regular season games may include a mix of 'home' and 'away' games, including teams from other areas across Oregon.  "Away" games are generally double-headers played on a Saturday or on a Sunday afternoon. Participation is covered by Little League's insurance and follow the safety-focused rules of play laid out by International Headquarters in partnership with the American Sports Medical Association.

When regular season play ends, All Star teams may be formed toward 'tournament' and may be made up from a 'mix' of these divisions:

  • Age 14 may be placed on a Junior or Senior All Star Team
  • Age 16 may be placed on a Senior or Big League All Star team

Players in all three of these divisions have the potential of participation in post-season tournaments:  District, State, Regional, and/or World Series tournament - based on continuing wins.

For 2009, the Junior All Star Oregon State tournament is scheduled to be held in Tualatin.  The Senior and Big League All Star Oregon State tournaments are scheduled to be held in Salem.  Dates will not be finalized for these tournaments until early May.

SENIOR BASEBALL FORMING NOW!

Little League® in Lane County is seeking to form Senior level baseball teams to compete throughout Oregon in the upcoming 2009 season.

Interested baseball players are invited to attend an informational question and answer meeting on January 29th at the Madison Middle School Cafeteria from 6:00-8:00 pm.

Senior and Big League baseball programs are for 15-18 year old players that are looking for something other than D2 or Legion ball, playing under the Little League umbrella.

The season will run late April through June with possible All Star tournament participation into early August. High School players are encouraged to consider playing and will be accommodated on teams.

Those unable to attend can contact Scott Denham at (541)520-3236
