IMPORTANT - with respect to Birth Certificates:

     At pre-season registrations, the league representative must view an original or certified copy of a government-issued birth certificate to certify the child's 'age', plus three varied proof of residence documents to show the child legally resides within the boundaries of the league. Common documents are: one drivers' license, one vehicle registration, one utility bill - each showing the address that is a 'legal residence' for the child. (*multiple utility bills = 1 proof of residence document)

For any player elected to be on a post-season All Star team, an authorized District representative must also view the original or certified copy of the document ... and the manager of the team is required to carry a copy with them (along with a current Medical Release and a copy of the proof of residence documents).  Once their tournament participation is completed, Leagues are instructed to obtain these document copies from the managers and destroy/shred them. 

** PER the State of California, the "CALIFORNIA ABSTRACT OF BIRTH" is no longer considered a valid proof of age (effective June 2003).  Nearly 2.5 million "blank documents" were discovered to be missing, and to prevent fraudulent 'proof of birthdate," the state shut down issuance of this form and created nul and void any prior issuances. The county recorder for the area where the individual was born will work with families direct to provide a valid document in exchange for free ... but it must be done through the County Recorder in California.   California does not recognize the Abstract as a legal document; neither does Little League.
