TO: District 7 League Presidents
FROM: Debbie Bedell, District Administrator
SUBJECT: 2008 All Stars and Tournament of Champions
Items involving All Stars and Tournament of Champions:
- Tournament of Champions: There will be NO Tournament of Champions again this year due to lack of league involvement.
- Final Date for Teams - Penalties: Due to the timeframe the final date to let District 7 know that you will or will not be having a team for All Stars is JUNE 17th. Any teams dropped or added after June 17th will be assessed $150.00 per team.
- All Star Names & Sponsor Pages: As close to or prior to June 15th that you are able to, please email/put on a disk the names of the players, manager and coaches from each of your teams and get them to Judy Stanley. This information will NOT be shared with anyone but will help to complete the Tournament Book on time. All leagues are to send a “COPY READY - FINAL” Sponsor Page to be put in the Tournament Book.
- Managers and Coaches Meeting – June 18th: Adam Stephens Middle School – 6:00 pm. This is a mandatory meeting for all managers and coaches for All Stars. At this meeting they will be informed that this meeting is their first warning on rules (i.e.: pitching rules, dangling throat guards, catchers not wearing helmets during warm-up – shagging balls, managers and/or coaches catching for players, etc.).
- Umpires Meeting – June 18th: Adam Stephens Middle School – 7:30 pm. This is a mandatory meeting for all umpires interested in umpiring during tournaments. At this meeting they will be informed on rules.
- Certification Day – June 19th: Adam Stephens Middle School – 6:00 pm.
- You will need to bring:-
- All COMPLETED notebooks for each tournament team plus score books-
- Presidents & Player Agents should be in attendance for verification and signatures-
- $50.00 per All Star team - $100.00 per sponsors page
- You will need to bring:-
- Scorekeepers Meeting – June 19th: Adam Stephens Middle School – 7:30 pm. This meeting will be for any scorekeepers needing some training prior to tournaments.
- Meeting With Your D7 Representative: You will need to contact your D7 Representative to schedule time with them to complete all necessary paperwork for Tournaments, i.e.: affidavits, birth certificates, playing time, proof of residents, etc. Please try to meet with them prior to the 19th. Any questions, please contact me. This letter will be added to the D7 web page for reference.
