2009 Post 4 Baseball

Here are the standings as of July 3rd. West Columbia 9-5, Orangeburg Post 4 9-6, Irmo-Chapin 9-7, Richland Post 6 8-7, Cloumbia NE 8-7, Newberry 6-9 and Lexington 3-11. Post 4 has three very important games left in the final week of the season. On Monday at 7 PM Post 4 will play at Richland Post 6, then on July 9th Post 4 will travel to Lexington with game time set for 7 Pm and close out the season at home with league leader West Columbia at 7:30 PM at historic Mirmow Field. This is a very big week for Post 4 in an effort to keep their playoff hopes alive. Each game is very important in more ways than one.

Post 4 played two pre-season games with Dalzell-Shaw and won both games. Game one was 10-5 and game two was 21-1.

Coach Bell has resigned due to work related issues. Coach Donald "Shot" Clariday has agreed to come out of retirement and will be the third member of the Post 4 staff joining Coach Leysath and Coach Fleming.

Post 4 schedule is complete as of now. We may add two more inter-league games to bring the schedule to 22 games. More on this as it occurs.

Try-outs are over the team for 2009 has been established. Post 4 will carry a 20 player roster.

Update on Tyler Davis. Tyler is home and doing well. His inital stay at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center was expected to be 6 to 8 weeks. Tyler returned home after 4 1/2 weeks. All your prayers are greatly appreciated by Tyler and the Davis family. Tyler still has a way to go but he is one the road to a full recovery. We at Post 4 ask that you keep Tyler and his family in your prayres.

Post 4 finished the 2008 season with a 17 and 7 record. We at Post 4 are looking forward to the beginning to the 2009 season.

Site will be updated as further news about Post 4 is available for 2009.
