Field Maintenance
OLHS has supplied the field with mats to put down in front of the pitchers mound and a grass saver to protect the area in front of home plate. All OBA teams are required to use these field-saving devices.
OLHS has also supplied us with a new set of bases. The bases are for game-use only. Please continue to use the old bases for practice. OLHS owns most, if not all, of the screens and nets in the rightfield storage bin, in addition to the batting cage. OLHS has granted OBA permission to continue using these items. Please respect OLHSs property and do our best to maintain it.
In the meantime, please be sure to do at least the following after EVERY practice: 1. brush the dirt from the infield grass; 2. rake and tamp the mound and batters boxes; 3. rake around the bases; and 4. drag the field with the cart. I realize this takes time, but hopefully each of us has a few parents on the team that can help with this as we end practice. I know well all be better off throughout the season if we all do our share to maintain the field. Moreover, the team that practices last on the field helps us maintain our great relationship with OLHS as this teams efforts are what OLHS sees the next day.
I you have any questions regarding these field maintanence responsibilities or other field questions, please contact OBA Field Director Danny Young at superiorstair@sbcglobal.net
