We are Growing!

The league is at 12 teams for this season and targeting to be at 18 teams for the Fall Season.  

Two teams have contacted me already so there are an additional 4 slots available.

We have space for new players - so if you are interested in playing this Spring -  please send an email to the commissioner and include your age (Must be at least 30 on the day you play in your first game), playing experience (competitive/recreational w/ years and leagues played), and position (Forward, Midfield, Def, Goal).  

Pick up games will start back in January - and will include new players on a distribution list if interested in joining in the informal games. 

Spring Season starts Sunday February 17 and goes until June 2 with weekends off for Easter, Mother's Day, and Memorial Day Sunday.  

 Games are played at Luther Peterson Park (http://goo.gl/yqL7i) in Round Rock.

RAINOUT INSTRUCTIONS: 

This message will be updated if games are cancelled.

Please plan to show up at the fields for your schedule games even if the weather is questionable.

At the field, the referee reserves the right to call the games based upon poor weather or field conditions. 

This message and the Team Manager's mailing list are the ONLY way game cancellations are communicated.  

Old Man Soccer Association is an over 3o Men's Soccer league based in Round Rock, Texas. Our league is the longest running >30 league in the City and provides the highest level of competition for the recreational player.

All Players interested in joining a team should contact the commissioner to identify a potential team.

 REMEMBER THAT FEES ARE DUE PRIOR TO THE FIRST GAME.

 Waivers are required for all players this season and must be held by the team captain at all times.  These must be verified to ensure information is correct.  No waiver, no play.

Special Rules

In the interest of fun and safety, OMSA plays with some special rules:

• All players must be 30 years of age or older (no exceptions)
• Teams play 7 to a side (6 plus a goalie). Shorter than normal fields. Smaller than normal goals
• Games last 4, 20 minute quarters (80 minute games). 2 minute break between quarters. 5 minute break at the half
• No offsides (but no hanging by the goal either)
• Unlimited substitutions (even while the ball is in play). We're not as young as we used to be, and need the breaks!
• NO slide tackling of any kind (red card). We're all too old and nobody wants to get hurt!
• When no one other players are around, sliding is permitted as it is not a tackle

The league will be in Round Rock at the Luther Peterson Fields.   These fields are off of Sunrise Blvd (from Rt 79, go North (about 2.5 miles), through a light and a stop sign and Luther Peterson St is on the left and the fields will be on the right hand side of Luther Peterson).

Current cost is $550 per team. Money collected goes towards:

• Paying for the use of fields
• Paying referees
• Equipment throughout the year
