1) Family ? I was married for 25 years, have two daughters ,Julie and Joleen,two grandchildren Jussie and Wade.
2) Age ? 55
3) Occupation ? Retired
4) Education ? Belleville Centennial SS and Loyalist College
5) What positions have you held in Fastball ? Player / Coach / Executive etc.
Umpired for 39 yearsZone umpire in Chief - zone 9 from Port Hope to almost CornwallProvincial Deputy Umpire in ChiefUic'd all masters provincials except oneHope to do more.
6) How long have you been involved in Fastball ? 39 years
7) Other sports / interests you've been involved in and accomplishments ?
I like Fishing,
I enjoy a round of golf before the ball tournaments. I enjoy hockey and Baseball and Lacrosse
Won 3 OBA Provincial Championships,peewee,midget and Senior
8) What are some of your fastball career highlights & accomplishments ?
Working the Summer games, 3 Canadian Championships including the Masters in Cobourg. Working the Legends in Woodstock, Working the ISC11 Tournament of Champions 2002, Deputy of the last two Tournament of Champions in Kitchener,2006,2007, Working and being a deputy in Orillia ( Casino Rama )Evaluations, Working Monkton World Tournament since it started One of the best tournaments in the world. Working the AAU tournament in Florida,warm in January. Working Spring training in Florida in March warmer then. Deputy UIC at the Senior Elims and Mens 7 of the last 8 years
9) Who are some of your favourite teammates / associates and
opposing players to play with and against over the years ?
There have been many friends I've met over the years and alot of players and coaches but there are a few class people in the game that I would love to mention but I should remain neutral as I am not quite retiring yet. I do see Sylvia Ryan everywhere. all mens tournaments --- mmmmm
10) Favourite tournament ?
My favourite tournament would be Monkton a Class tournament run by some of the finest people and great volunteers.I enjoy all the Masters tournaments ,competative but fun
11) Plans for 2008 & beyond ?
Not sure yet but hopefully be at the Masters in July.
12) Any additional thoughts ?
I feel the Masters needs a Rec Division at provincials,there are many teams in the province but cannot compete in the Elite Division.Hopefully the OASA can get this started.
