STARZ FAQ's

Olympain FAQ's:

Q: What is covered in the cost of registration?

Jersey, Shorts, Coaching, practice fields, jamborees, insurance, field equipment, mini-camps, and access to the Starz Lacrosse Foundation College Counseling.

Q: Is Olympian Starz Part of the OC Starz?

No, Olympian is not an OC Starz program.  There are several Starz programs in Orange County that compete against each other.

Q: What is the difference between “Invite Only” and getting an invitation/marketing material to “Tryout”?

When you receive an invite for a particular team, you do not need to attend any tryouts for a Starz team in Orange County, you have already been pre-selected to a team. If you have not been contacted by a particular team, you should attend a tryout.

Q: What are Mini Camps?

These are longer than normal practices, which may be combined with another Starz team.  Each season we attempt to set aside at least one mini camp practice day.   Pro players often coach during some of these sessions.

Sample Mini Camp Day:
-1.5 hour morning practice: team Offenses/Def, EMO/EMD, skills, etc)
Lunch 45 min lunch break
-1.5 hour afternoon practice (drills and scrimmaging)

Q: What are Starz Jamborees?

Starz Cup Jamborees consist of 2 - 3 games in one day.  The 2008-2009 winter season will be the first season with 4 regular season jamborees as opposed to 3 in previous seasons.

Starz Cup Playoffs & Championships are in addition to the regular season jamborees played at the end of the Starz season and are usually single game elimination.

Q: What are Adrenaline Tournaments?

Adrenaline Tournaments, are not directly part of the Starz season, however, each team will decide if this is mandatory or optional, hopefully at the beginning of the season before registration.
