History

The summer 2008 season marked an explosion in the amount of players / teams participating in Olympian Starz.  Having only 3 teams in the winter season, Olympian Starz jumped to 7 total teams (1 mini, 2 youth, 1 ms, 2 hs, 1 elite).  With any growth, there is often growing pains.  Our  3 youngest teams did very well, winning, or making it to, the championships.  Our four older teams had their wins, but also took some bumps and bruises to add to some great learning experiences.  As our younger players develop, we look to continued success at the younger age groups in addition to becoming a power house in the older age groups!

The fall / winter 2007 season had its ups, downs, and everything in between as the growth of Olympian Starz continued at a rapid pace.

The MS Olympian Starz started slow, but really came together as a team late in the season. It was great to see a number of relatively inexperienced players quickly adapt to the high level of the Starz program and the more experienced players really stepped up their game to compete in every game.

The HS Olympian Starz had a wide array of younger and older players that similar to the MS team, started slow, but came on stronger towards the end. Every game was competitive even if the standings did not show it. To make things even more exciting, the team was backed by two freshman goalies, Kevin Adamson and Jake Whelan, who kept the team in every game.

The Youth Olympian Starz team brought home the Starz Cup for the North Division and they did it in style, going undefeated against all North Division opponents both during the season and in the playoffs.

While the program as a whole has a very bright future, it is extremely exciting to see our youngest group to date already setting the pace.

Over the summer of 2007 a the Olympian Lacrosse Club had a Middle School team compete in the Warrior division of the Adrenaline Rumble in Santa Barbara and made it to the semi-finals. During the tournament they also tied the eventual Warrior division champions.

In addition to the Middle School team, we also entered a High School (very young) team in to the Warrior Elite division of the Adrenaline Shootout in Temecula where they tied the eventual champions of the Warrior Elite division and played many other close games.
