REGISTRATION HAS BEEN EXTENDED THROUGH SATURDAY, 5/30.  If you are still interested in trying out, REGISTER NOW.

Practice dates have been set.  All High School and Elite players must attend the Open tryout for the 2009 summer season.  If you are a Mini, Youth, or MS player and have not received an invitation at this point, YOU MUST REGISTER TO TRY OUT.  We have the ability to create multiple teams at each age group, based on the level of participation at the tryouts.  Our goal is to create competitive teams for players who want to take their game to the next level.

Tryouts are as follows:

Saturday May 30, 2009 at Tesoro High School

High School; Noon - 2:00pm

Elite; 2:30 - 4:30pm

Sunday May 31, 2009 at Tesoro High School

Mini; Noon - 1:30pm

Youth; 1:30 - 3:00pm

MS; 3:30 - 5:00pm

PLEASE NOTE:  Trying out for the team means that if you make it, you will not receive a refund and are expected to make ALL events.  Do not try out if you are not committed to playing for the Olympian Starz.  If you do not make a team, you will be refunded asap.

To see your age group's schedule check the schedule links to the left of this website.  Age groups are as follows:

Minis:  Completed 3rd / 4th grade (we will also consider second graders who are able to play up).

Youth: Completed 5/6th grade.

MS (Middle School): Completed 7/8th grade.

HS (High School): Completed 9-11th grade (JV Level).

Elite: Completed 9-11th grade (Varsity Level).  Seniors who have not decided where they are going to college may be eligible, via approval from Starz Corporate.  If you are in this position, please contact us.

The Jamboree schedule for the summer season is posted!  The practice dates and times will be solidified upon securing the fields.  The exact time and locations of Jamborees will be announced in early June.  Click on the appropriate age group link to the left of this website to see your schedule.

See you on the field again soon!

PARENT AND PLAYER COMMITMENT TO THE OLYMPIAN STARZ:

I am part of a club team to improve my skills as an individual and as TEAM PLAYER. Being part of team means showing up to all events. It is my responsibility to look at the schedule for the ENTIRE SEASON provided for my team and make arrangements to attend all events. In the event I have something PLANNED IN ADVANCE that I am unable to re-arrange, I will notify my coach, director or team parent IMMEDIATELY. Only when I notify the head of the team immediately can the program plan ahead and keep the best interest of both the team and me as an individual. Last second absences, even with notification, will not help improve the strength of the team, which directly affects ME. Being part of a team means knowing all of the team plays, terminology, etc., as well as keeping up my individual lacrosse skills and staying in shape ON MY OWN. By missing lacrosse events, I fully recognize that I am hurting my team and myself, which directly conflicts with my purpose of playing for the Olympian Starz.

History (The Myth): The Olympians Lacrosse Club was formed in the summer of 2007 and the team side of the organization quickly joined the Starz organization in the fall of 2007.   Olympian Lacrosse Club still operates camps and clinics as Olympian Lacrosse

Mission Statement: The Olympian Starz Lacrosse Club is a group of elite club lacrosse teams made up of the top players, from grades 2nd -12th, in the greater Orange County Area. The mission of the Olympian Starz is to provide the optimal environment for player development by learning from highly qualified coaches and competing with and against the top players from the West.  Our goal is to develop a player (currently boys only) throughout their Youth, Middle and High School career and additionally provide players with viable opportunities for collegiate lacrosse play.  It is of the utmost importance that everyone involved with Olympian Starz, including players, coaches, parents, and administration are aligned not only with the vision of the club, but the positive influence structure, both internally and externally, to get us to our vision.
