Monday, June 8
The OBGC Cyclones White finished first in WAGS Division 3. They were the only undefeated team in the division, finishing the season with 5 wins and 4 ties. They faced some tough competition, including the BRYC '95 Elite Blue (formerly Axiom), the CHAN Revolution '95 and the ARL Flame. However, the girls persevered and will likely be moving to WAGS Division 2 in the fall. Great job girls!
Tuesday, May 26
Both OBGC Cyclones Teams played in the Columbia Invitational Memorial Day Tournament, played at Covenant Park and OBGC's Freeman Fields. The OBGC Cyclones Blue won the U-13 Girls Champion Division in a VERY exciting final game! The girls played great all weekend, winning their bracket by beating the Empire United-Syracuse (2-1); the TSC Thunder Storm (1-0); and tieing the Smithtown Kickers Smithtown Xplosion (NYE) (1-1). In the championship game, they beat the SAC United 1(2-1), in a very exciting game!! Thanks to Leah and Sidney, our guest players! Congratulations girls! You deserve it!
The OBGC White played in the U-13 Premier Division and finished third in their bracket. They faced stiff competition, playing the Baltimore Bays '96, the BRYC Team Harkes Elite (VA) and the Victory Express SC Victory 95/96 (PAW). The girls only win came on Sunday, when they beat the Victory Express, 2-0. It was great soccer for both teams. We are so proud of them!

Sunday, May 3
The Cyclones went to WAGS Night at the Maryland SoccerPlex when the Washington Freedom took on the St Louis Athletica. The League honored soccer legends Mia Hamm and Siri Mullinex at half-time. The Cyclones won the Grand Prize for purchasing so many tickets to the game, and won a photo opportunity for the team (coaches and players) with Mia Hamm. Check it out!

The OBGC Cyclones White played in the Elite Division at the Baltimore March Madness on March 21 & 22. All games were played at Covenant Park, in Ellicott City, MD.
The girls bested all 3 teams in bracket 1 (Empire United-Syracuse, Parkville SC Lightning, and Cherry Hill FC Wildcats) winning 2-0, 3-1, and 3-0.
In an exciting final game, the girls beat the bracket 2 winner, the Parkville SC Eagles, 1-0. Congratulations girls!

They Cyclones entered 4 teams into Good Counsel's Annual Futsal Tournament on Valentine's Day. Two of our squads finished in second place in their brackets. Great effort girls! The Cyclones White also played in the '09 Presidential Showdown held at the Carroll Indoor Sports Center in Westminster, MD. Finishing 2-1-1, the girls played great soccer on President's Day, scoring 14 goals throughout the day. Go Cyclones!
Friday, January 23
The Cyclones entered 4 teams into the King 6v6 Classic indoor soccer tournament on 1/19. All games were played at the Carroll Indoor Sports Center in Westminster, MD. The girls played teams from Harrisburg, PA, and from Westminster, Taneytown, Baltimore, Reistertown, Washington Grove, and Salisbury, MD. Of the 12 teams entered, all 4 of our teams advanced in the top 6 for the quarterfinal round, and 3 out of 4 advanced to the semi-final round. Our one squad who advanced to the finals won 3-2 over the Parkville SC United, in a very exciting championship game. Congratulations to the winning squad, and to all our girls, who had a very successful day!
Friday, January 16
The Cyclones Nation entered 2 teams into the 2009 Maryland Futsal State Cup. The girls played teams including, the DCFA Flamengos (2008 Maryland Futsal State Cup Champion and the U.S. Futsal Federation (USFF) National Champion!), the Waldorf Mustangs, the Frederick Freedom, the Southern Maryland Futsal Club (SMFC) Storm, and the Freestate Fire. One of our teams advanced to the quarter-finals and finished 6th. The other advanced to the semi-finals, losing to the eventual Cup Champion, the DCFA Flamengos, 3-0, and finishing in 4th place. It must be noted that our girls tied the DCFA Flamengos 1-1 during regular tournament play. The girls had fun and learned a lot. We are proud of them!
Congratulations to Carrie M., Emily V., Kaylie D., Jessica J., and Michaela C.!!! These girls were recognized by the opposing team coaches after each match during the 2009 Maryland Futsal State Cup. Players recognized by tournament coaches were considered as a contributing factor to their teams' success.

Both the Olney Cyclones White and the Olney Cyclones Blue played in this past weekend's Columbia Fall Classic Tournament. Both teams finished as finalists and came away with 2nd place medals. The Olney Cyclones Blue played in the U13 Challenge Division, Bracket A and won their bracket, besting the FSC Predators and the CYA Galaxy. The girls won their semi-final game 2-0 over the CSC Storm Runners. In a great final game that came down to penalty kicks, they lost to the Maryland Athletic Makos, 2-1. The Olney Cyclones White played in the U13 Premier Division, and saw victories over the BPSC Force, the SAC United 1 and the Parkville SC Eagles. In a well-matched final game, they lost 1-0 to the BRYC Team Harkes Elite. Both teams played great soccer in the brutal cold. Congratulations!!

The Olney Cyclones White reached the Final Four in the Maryland State Cup Championship. This is a statewide tournament organized by the Maryland State Youth Soccer Association. 32 teams from accross the state entered, and after 3 rounds the Cyclones made it to the Final Four.
The girls won their first round game against the MSC Xcel last Saturday (October 18), 1-0. They won their second game last Sunday (October 19) against the Bethesda Legacy 2-0. They won their quarterfinals round on Sunday, October 26 against the BPSC Force, 2-0. All these games were played on Kent Island, in Stevensville, MD.
The Cyclones played their semi-final game on Nov. 1st at the Maryland Soccerplex in Germantown. They lost to the GSPAA Kickers 2-1 in overtime. The Cyclones scored their goal early in the first half, and maintained the lead for nearly the entire game. In the last 2 minutes of the game, a foul was called on the girls, and the Kickers received a penalty kick, which led to the game ending in a tie. The Kickers won the game in overtime. The Cyclones played their hearts out. We are so proud of them!!!
