Oklahoma Firebirds: Welcome

Oklahoma Firebirds Gold 18& Under Fast Pitch
The Oklahoma Firebirds Gold are from the Tulsa Metro area. Players come from all over Oklahoma. Our players attend numerous high schools in the area. We currently have players from Broken Arrow High School, Catoosa High School, Inola High School, Jenks High School, Lawton Mac High School, Metro Christian High School, Owasso High School, Stillwater High School, Stroud High School and Tulsa Union High School. We are a member of the Tulsa Girls Softball Federation in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We are also a member of the Metro Tulsa Amateur Softball Association and a member of the Oklahoma American Fastpitch Association.
Our goal is to prepare our players for careers in high school and college softball. We make every attempt to teach fundamentals, and proper technique. We pride our selves in our discipline, character, and class by which we play the game.
We practice a "no excuses" policy by both players and coaches. We want players who are dedicated to the game of softball. The girls, coaches, and parents spend an enormous amount of time and money to accomplish these goals. Every player, no matter what her role, is needed in a team effort. We do not allow "I" in the effort of the team.

No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.

Championships are not won on the night of a big event, but all year by athlete’s who commit themselves daily to championship principles., Muhammad Ali
Wow, what a ride it has been. Jessica (Scrubby) and I started this in 8&U in Coweta. We have been together ever since, I coached her first game in 8&U, first game in High School in Inola, coached firstbase in her first College game and our journey has come to a end in the Elite Showcase in Plano, TX in October 2007. Scrubby it has been a ride I'll never forget.
I Love You.
Dad.
