Welcome to the Oklahoma City Mets website. We are a 12-year old team made up of kids from the Oklahoma City area. Our goal is to return to the USSSA Elite 24 World Series in Florida again this year.

METS WIN USSSA ELITE 24 WORLD SERIES
Who would have thought after the season we had that we would end the season as the #1 Team in the Country?! After losing one of our top players, suffering injuries and not coming through in some of the big tournaments this year, the Mets managed to come together and perform at the highest level against the toughest competition in the country. The Elite 24 World Series is without a doubt the Premier World Series in the country. The Best of the Best came to play. We faced the So Cal Redwings, Georgia Seminoles, North Alabama Vipers, Houston Angels, Southern Nevada Bulldogs and the Mac-N-Seitz Indians. In the world of travel baseball these are some of the top organizations in the country. This is our 4th national title but without a doubt it is our biggest accomplishment. We would like to thank the parents who supported the team until the end and most importantly congratulate the players on a total team effort. Each player made a difference at some time during the tournament.

METS GO OUT IN STYLE!
The Mets have won over 630 games with 4 National Titles and 11 State Championships. It's time to move on. Most of you know that the OKC Mets, the Oklahoma Sooners and the Oklahoma Braves will be coming together to form the Oklahome Elite. The name will change but the faces will be the same. We look forward to the challenge of building a top-notch organization. We are very fortunate to have Charles Thompson and Rusty Fisher join us in our new endeavor. I would like to thank all of the people who have supported the Mets and who have visited our website over the past 6 years. It has been a ride that very few get to experience. I would like to thank all of the players, 7 of whom have been on this team since they were 9 years old. Thanks to coaches Brian Blackburn and Jeff James for their dedication to the team. Thanks to Jim Lawson (our "man on the scene") for updating the website and for being our #1 promoter and scout. Thanks to all of the parents for your hard work, support and most importantly for trusting me with your kids. You all have great kids and I have been lucky to have them on the team. Thanks to my wife for taking care of business behind the scenes. Thanks to my son Taylor, the "original Met", for not taking advantage of being the coaches son. Your talent and accomplishments have made my job much easier and more enjoyable. Not many dads get to experience winning a national title with their son.

OKLAHOMA ELITE BASEBALL ACADEMY
The OKC Mets are excited to announce their affiliation with Boom Town Ballyards and the OKLAHOMA ELITE BASEBALL ACADEMY.
It is with great pleasure that Oklahoma Elite and Boomtown Ballyards announce the formation of a Baseball Academy unlike anything seen before in Oklahoma. It is our vision to provide an opportunity for Oklahoma Youth Athletes ages 7-14 to come out and participate in a first class player development program.
With the combination of a winning tradition, outstanding facilities, professional caliber instruction, and opportunities for high level competition; Oklahoma Elite offers all the necessary tools for improving your game!
Three of the areas most competitive baseball teams, the 13u Oklahoma Sooners, the 12u OKC Mets, and the 11u OKC Braves are joining forces with Boom Town Ballyards to form the Elite Baseball Academy. Charles Thompson, Kevin Tipps & Rusty Fisher will combine their championship tradition coaching talents to lead the Oklahoma Elite Academy.

METS GOING TO FLORIDA......
The Okc METS will be returning to Florida this year for the USSSA Elite 24 World Series held the first week of August. This event has been expanded from 16 teams to a 24 team event. The Mets qualified out of the Dallas Super-Nit.
At this time, 7 of the 16 teams from last year have qualified for a return trip:
Okc METS
So Cal Redwings
Georgia Seminoles
North Alabama Vipers
Broward Bulldogs
Texas Terminators
Rocket City Stingers
The 24 teams will be split into 2 12-team groups and will play 2 pool games against the other group. Then each group will be split into 2 6-team brackets for double-elimination play. The 4 bracket winners will then play a single-elimination semi-final / final bracket.

BASEBALL'S 10 COMMANDMENTS
1. Nobody ever becomes a ballplayer by walking after a ball.
2. You will never become a .300 hitter unless you take the bat off your shoulder.
3. If what you did yesterday still looks big to you, you haven't done much today.
4. Keep your head up and you may not have to keep it down.
