Indoor Cricket is a variation of standard cricket. It was developed in Perth, Western Australia and, originally, was intended to allow cricketers to play the game all year-round as a low cost sport.
Introduced by OICA (Ontario Indoor Cricket Association) this sport is gaining mass popularity in North America. One of the many positive aspects of the game is its suitability for adults new to any form of cricket. The ball is softer then a regular cricket ball, everyone is involved to the same degree (regardless of ability), and you don't have to be super fit nor do you have to be able to hit the ball a hundred yards to be a regular and effective batsman.
So come participate in this indoor cricket extravaganza and watch the 16 teams battle out for supremacy in the first ever 15-15 indoor cricket tournamant.
INDOOR CRICKET 15-15 (how it works):
4 Pools (Divisons), 4 teams per pool.
9 players per side (fielding and batting). 15 maximum on a roster.
Each Innings is 15 Overs and must be bowled in 40 minutes.
Each Bowler is allowed 3 Overs per innings and 1 bouncer per batsman per over.
Pitch is divived in half. Only 4 players are allowed on either side of the pitch.
Boundaries: "straight" is 4 and 6. Side walls: run for shots played in gaps, infinite, until the fielder throws back the ball for a run out.
Wides and No Balls will allow 2 "extra" bonus runs.
Winning Team: 5 points, Loss: Zero points. In the event of a "tie" the teams will proceed to a a "bowl out". Captains must notify the umpire of the 3 Bowlers that will be selected.
Top 2 teams in a Divison will proceed to the next stage.
Winning Prize: $3000 cash!
