1999-2009 Wolfpack Coaches Corner (Organization History)
HISTORY OF THE OHIO WOLFPACK
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
The founder of this organization is Jamie Wolff. The goals and those of the coaching staffs are to provide an atmosphere that promotes hard work, focus on the task at hand, and most important...FUN, allowing each young lady to reach their full potential as a softball player.
In the fall of 1999, the Wolfpack was established, by Jamie Wolff and consisted of (1) 16U team for the 2000 summer season.
In 2001 the Wolfpack played 16U.
In 2002 the Wolfpack moved up and played 18U.
In 2003 the Wolfpack expanded to have a total of 3 teams! We had (2) 12U teams the 12U Gold coached by Bob Myers and the 12U Black team coached by Jamie Wolff and (1) 14U team coached by Fred Mertes.
In 2004 the Wolfpack had (1) 12U Wolfpack Gold team coached by Bob Myers, (1) 12U Wolfpack Black team coached by Phil Marcantonio and (1) 16U Wolfpack team coached by Jamie Wolff (who took over for the 14U NSA "B" National Champs coached by Fred Mertes the year before).
In 2005 we expanded our organization again to have a total of 4 teams (1) 10U Wolfpack White team coached by Vince Carter, (1) 12U Wolfpack Gold team coached by Bob Myers, (1) 14U Wolfpack Black team coached by Phil Marcantonio, and (1) 16U Wolfpack team coached by Jamie Wolff (43-14-3).
In 2006 we had (1) 14U Wolfpack Gold team coached by Ken Rohr, (1) 14U Wolfpack Black team coached by Phil Marcantonio, (1) 16U Wolfpack team coached by Kelly Sasavicz, and (1) 18U Wolfpack team coached by Jamie Wolff.
In 2007 we had (1) 16U Wolfpack Black coached by Phil Marcantonio and (1) 18U Wolfpack team coached by Jamie Wolff.
In 2008 we have come almost full circle. We are back to just a one team in the Organization. There will be (1) 16U Wolfpack Black team coached by Phil Marcantonio.
And for 2009 we will have 2 teams competing in the 18U age bracket.(1) Wolfpack Black team coached by Phil Marcantonio (6th year), Todd Arney (6th year), Chuck Ferrell (6th year) and Jim Berger (5th year). (1) Wolfpack team coached by Jamie Wolff (9th year), Denny Earl (1st year), Mike (5th year) and Melissa Bott (1st year).
