We have just 5 teams for our District play. The games begin on July 14th with Perry hosting Geneva at 6 PM. On Thursday we have Conneaut hosting Madison and Ashtabula waits to play the winner of the first game!

The Ohio State Tournament will be in our own Conneaut, OH from August 1st thru the 8th. Conneaut will be hosting both the 9 & 10's and the 10 & 11 yr. olds for Softball. Please come down and support the girls!

AND THE WINNER IS MADISON! MADISON DEFEATED JEFFERSON 7-6 AND WILL NOW GO ON TO CAMBRIDGE. A VERY WELL PLAYED GAME BY BOTH TEAMS! ON A PERSONAL NOTE WE WITNESSED A BOY FROM MADISON BEING HIT BY A PITCH AND WE SAW THE JEFFERSON TEAM ALL KNEEL DOWN IN THE FIELD UNTIL IT WAS DETERMINED THE BOY WAS ALRIGHT AND COULD TAKE A BASE. A GREAT SHOW OF RESPECT AND BOTH TEAMS HAD GREAT SPORTSMANSHIP. EITHER TEAM WOULD HAVE BEEN A GREAT REPRESENTATIVE TO CAMBRIDGE! LET US KNOW HOW YOU DO BOYS! 

The winner of this bracket goes on to State at Cambridge, OH ...8/01 thru 8/08/09.

CONNEAUT DEFEATED ASHTABULA COUNTY TODAY WITH A SCORE OF 25-5 AND WON'T HAVE FAR TO TRAVEL FOR THE STATE TOURNAMENT! 

We have only two teams for this tournament...I have not received the dates yet for play...so check back for updates! The two teams are AC/Geneva & Conneaut.

7/24: WE WENT TO CEDARQUIST PARK TONIGHT TO WATCH TWO TALENTED TEAMS PLAY EACH OTHER FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP. UNFORTUNATELY WE WITNESSED A PITCHER...PITCHING HIS BEST...AND BEING HIT WITH A BALL. THE GAME WAS OVER IN THE SECOND INNING. BECAUSE OF THIS EVENT GENEVA WAS NOT ABLE TO HAVE 9 PLAYERS ON THE FIELD AND HAD TO FORFEIT THE GAME. NO ONE WANTS TO WIN THIS WAY, HOWEVER ASHTABULA WAS DECLARED THE WINNER BY CENTRAL REGION DECISION. WE HOPE THAT THE BELL BOY IS OK...OUR THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU & YOUR FAMILY TONIGHT!

The Ashtabula All-Stars 10-11 team played in Chesapeake, Ohio and represented District 1.
 
Game 1:  Saturday
Loss in a 14-2 Mercy.  
Jake Bleil, Josh Bleil and Matt Rocco were only Bula boys to get a hit against the North Canton All-Stars 13 hits.
 
Game 2:  Looser Bracket   Sunday
Loss in a 13-2 Mercy.
Jake Bleil doubled, Josh Bleil, Patton Sidbeck, and Mitch Dragon produced the only hits for Bula against 12 hits for the Wheelersburg All-Stars.
 
The boys were very sad having travelled so far.   If there is a way you could put all the players names in the paper it would be deeply appreciated.  Team members were
Mitch Dragon, Josh Bleils, Jake Bleil, Alec Graeb, Patton Sidbeck, Seth Tackett, Alex Wisnyai, Bryce Tome, Matt Rocco, Jared Kingston, Sam Chaney, Caleb Wright, and Brendan Williamson.

IT TOOK TWO GAMES BUT ASHTABULA PREVAILED OVER CONNEAUT....ASHTABULA WILL BE REPRESENTING US IN PAINESVILLE FOR THE STATE TOURNAMENT...COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE BOYS.... 

The Ohio State Tournament is in our own backyard this year....Painesville, OH. You can check out their website at www.painesvillelittleleague.org . The tournament is from July 25th thru the 31st! Come and root for our team! The Sr. State Bracket is posted in our State Tournament section and as we are finding out the other district winners...their team names will be posted as they come in...so check back!

Regional tournament is at Columbia, MO 8/07 thru the 13th. And the World Series is at Bangor, Maine August 16th thru the 22nd! 

Last time we had a State winner was from N.E. Cleveland in 2004!!! Can we do it again???

The State Tournament is at Maumee, OH from 7/25 - 7/31. Regional tournament is at Ft. Wayne, IN from August 7th thru the 13th where we will be able to see our own Dave Zrubek be one of the umpires!!!! The World Series is in Taylor, MI August 16th - 22nd.

 KINGSVILLE DEFEATED GENEVA IN THE "IF" GAME BY A SCORE OF 8-0! CONGRATULATIONS BOYS! 

Winner of this bracket goes on to State at Tallmadge, OH from 7/25 thru August 2nd. Regional tournament is in Indianpolis, IN  from 8/06 thru the 15th.
