Oxon Hill Boys and Girls Club: About Us
The Oxon Hill Boys and Girls Club (OHBGC) is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Prince George’s County Boys and Girls Club (PGCBGC) of Maryland. Since March 1964, the OHBGC has provided boys and girls of Oxon Hill, and surrounding communities, with activities to help develop them into intelligent, motivated, independent and responsible student athletes. Through various activities, such as basketball, cheerleading, football, soccer, and track, the tradition of team sports and competition are challenging, fun and exciting. Many of the student athletes have obtained college degrees in numerous vocations.
The OHBGC is run entirely by volunteers, including parents, who are dedicated to providing the best possible program for our youth. We welcome your active participation in the Club as we seek to fulfil our mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us the most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. We envision our program as one that can support and sustain itself while adequately providing an avenue for the children of our community to develop by providing,
- A safe place to learn,
- Ongoing relationships with caring adult professionals,
- Life-enhancing programs and character development experiences,
- Hope and opportunity.
Finally, the OHBGC is governed by a set of rules known as by-laws. You can review the by-laws in detail via the "OHBGC By-Laws" document in the OHBGC Handouts page where you will find all OHBGC policy documents.
