ALDERMAN RICHARD SIMON
|
|
Rich Simon has served as 2nd Ward Alderman from 1973 to 1987 and from 1997 to present. As an alderman, he has worked to bring about capital projects to alleviate flooding and drainage problems, infrastructure rehabilitation, and plans to create economic development opportunities.
Looking forward, Rich anticipates the completion of the Gateway Project; ongoing rehabilitation of city streets, sidewalks, water and sewer systems; continuation of quality municipal services; and improved communication among city officials, residents and business owners.
His vision for the city: "To remain a family-oriented community with an eye toward attracting commercial investment that can help improve residents' quality of life by reducing their tax burden and increasing their property value."
Active in his community, Rich is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Chamber of Commerce, and has served on the Oak Forest Bengal Football Boosters, and is a former member of the Oak Forest Jaycees, Oak forest baseball Association Board of Directors and former president, and manager in the Oak Forest Girls Softball League
A 10-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, Rich is the semi-retired owner of Simon Maintenance and Sewer Service. Rich has lived in Oak Forest most of his life. He and his wife, Becky, have three children and 11 grandchildren.

ALDERMAN DIANE WOLF
|
|
Diane Wolf has served as 3rd Ward Alderman since 2005. In this role, Diane has introduced the Crime Free Multi-Housing Program and the 3rd Ward Neighborhood Watch newsletter. In addition, she has worked to revitalize and beautify the city through the Streetscape Commission. As part of Streetscape, Diane has initiated the Farmers Market, Adopt-a-Spot and Forest in Bloom. Diane also serves as the liaison to the Senior Citizen and Finance Commissions.
As an alderman, Diane wants to find solutions to some of the challenges facing the city such as improving streets and infrastructure. She also hopes to create landscape and site plan standards that will provide consistency in attracting new development and redevelopment within business areas.
Diane's vision for the city: "As demographics show, we need a diversified housing market and smart growth that meets the demands of the future. We need to provide housing options that address the needs of a wide range of people from young families to senior citizens."
In addition to her city responsibilities, Diane serves on the Bremen Youth Services Board of Directors, the Oak Forest Raider Booster Board and the Relay for Life Committee. Diane is also working on a bachelor's of science degree in business.
Diane has lived in Oak Forest since 1982. She has been married to her husband Chuck for 18 years. They have four children and a granddaughter.

ALDERMAN CHUCK TOLAND
|
|
Chuck Toland has served as 4th Ward Alderman since 2007. As an alderman, Chuck is working to improve communication between the city and residents and create a 4th Ward Neighborhood Watch group.
His vision for the city: "I would like to see ongoing development fulfilled as well as taking care of our existing businesses. Oak Forest's greatest asset is its residents and we need to listen to their input and communicate our plans to them."
In addition to his city responsibilities, Chuck is very involved in Oak Forest Raider football as well as Mount Camel High School Alumni Association activities.
Chuck holds a bachelor's of arts degree in English composition from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. A 20-year veteran in the mortgage industry, Chuck is the vice president of the Money Shop in Palos Heights. Chuck has lived in Oak Forest since 1965. He has been married to his wife Karen for 13 years. The Toland's have two children.
