Former Braves Wrestler Mike Letts Wraps up Successful Freshman Year at UMD
Mike Letts
Former Braves wrestler Mike Letts has much to be proud of regarding his freshman season at University of Maryland. Mike recently was awarded the Curt Callahan Mental Toughness Award, named after the alum, for his outstanding season and was also named the team's "Freshman of the Year".
Mike Letts competed in the FILA Junior National Championships and finished in the top seven to advance to the FILA World Team Trials in May in Colorado Springs. Letts finished second at 174 pounds.
Letts won the ACC Championship at 174 pounds this season and was the first true freshman to take part in the NCAA Championships for the Terps since 1990. He finished the 2006-07 season with a record of 30-7.
Mike will be heading off to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs at the
end of May. Best of Luck and continued success Mike!
