Emily Woolsey set a new school career record for saves with 509, surpassing the old record of 468 set by Heather Arata in 2004. Jenny Benn and Woolsey broke the old record of 21 for games played in a season held by three players. The new mark is 24 games played. Emily King set four freshman scoring records: Goals Scored-20, surpassing the old record of 3 held by Jayme Nelson, Emily Woolsey, Corissa Brunow, and Stephanie Williams Assists-5, surpassing the old mark of 3 set by Williams Points-45, surpassing the old mark of 9 set by Williams Game Winning Goals-6, surpassing the old record of 1 held by many players

Ocosta Advances to State Semifinal Game
Ocosta came from behind against the Orcas Vikings in Mt. Vernon last Saturday. Grace Thompson put the Vikings up at the half. Emily King scored on a breakaway and a direct kick while Emily Woolsey made six saves for the victory. Ocosta will take on Evergreen Lutheran in a semifinal game Friday at 10 am in Sumner.

All League Performers Announced
Four Wildcats earned All League second team recognition this year. Senior goalkeeper Emily Woolsey secured her third straight second team appearance. Three freshmen appeared for the first time: forward Emily King, midfielder Tynesha Bushnell, and defender Jamie Carter. Two juniors received honorable mention, sweeper Ambra Mallory and midfielder Celeste Needham. With seven teams in the 1A Evergreen League these girls are to be commended for making the team. Congratulations to all these outstanding young women!

Woolsey Recognized by the Seattle Times and WIAA
Emily Woolsey was the state 2B Player of the Week for all sports last week for her outstanding performances against Montesano and Tenino. Woolsey blocked a breakaway in the second overtime against Tenino and then blocked three shots during the shootout as Ocosta defeated Tenino 2-1, completing a season sweep of the Beavers for the first time in school history. This was the second time in her career that Woolsey received the honor!
