Welcome to the home of Oconomowoc Youth Football!

2009 Tackle Football & Cheerleading Registration

Grades 5-8 (2009-2010 school year)

All football team rosters have been filled.  However at the 5th grade level, an additional team may be added if there is enough participants interested.  A waiting list will be taken at each grade level, in case openings occur.  Please contact Oconomowoc Parks & Rec for information and to be placed on a waiting list. 

Cheerleading Program still accepting registration at all grade levels...

Cheerleading registration deadline is June 26th or 20 participants per grade. Early registration fee is $50.00.  All fees include sales tax.

Paperwork will be collected at equipment hand-out. No equipment will be issued without completed paperwork.  You may download the forms at www.oconomowocusa.com or pick them up at the Community Center.  For additional program information, refer to the Fall and Winter program guide available at the Parks & Rec website.

Equipment Handout – Sunday, July 26, 2009 - At the South Roosevelt Park shed  (Forest and Main Street)Both parents are encouraged to attend.  No equipment will be given out before this date. All Coaches must be there to assist for their grades' hour.  A shoe vendor will be on site for your convenience.         

Parent Meeting – (at least one parent must attend)         

5^th grade parents: Monday, August 10, 2009 at 6:15 pm - High School Field bleachers          6^th through 8^th grade parents: Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at 6:15 pm - High School Football Field bleachers 

Conditioning – Monday through Friday - Beginning August 10, 2009 (6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.)* please wear practice jersey, shorts, football shoes, helmet and mouth guard 

First full pad practice - Full pads practice will begin as soon as conditioning hours are complete. All players must have ten hours of conditioning before they will be allowed to practice. There will be no conditioning outside the scheduled conditioning dates. No exceptions will be made. Please make every attempt to make it to practice beginning August 3.  

Practice - Monday through Friday 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. through August

Beginning in September practices will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (as we lose sunlight, practice times will change – to be announced)

Home games are held at Ski Slide Park. Away games to be announced. The first league game is September 12, 2009. 

City of Oconomowoc Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department Named

NRPA/USA Football Youth Football Grant Recipient 

Oconomowoc, WI – February 10, 2009 – The City of Oconomowoc Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department was one of over 450 agencies from parks and recreation, schools, and independent youth associations that applied for the NRPA/USA Football Youth Football Grant in partnership with the National Recreation & Park Association (NRPA) and USA Football.  Each applicant submitted detailed information concerning the state of youth football in their community in order to qualify for funding through this competitive process.  Both tackle and flag programs were considered for support across the country. The City of Oconomowoc Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department received funding support for the youth tackle football program in order to provide game jerseys.  This program affects over 265 children every fall season. 126 agencies or organizations received funding totaling $300,000.00 to enhance programs and create stability for the future of youth football at the grassroots level.  The City of Oconomowoc was awarded a grant in the amount of $3,000.
