WELCOME TO THE OCJAAF!: IN MEMORIAM
![]() |
IN MEMORIAM is a place we shall remember those we have lost in recent months. The OCJAAF places significant emphasis in the word of FAMILY---because the OCJAAF is comprised of many families. When we lose a member of our family it affects us all. When a life is cut short, or a loved one suffers through illness, we are united as one family to bring comfort or support to the members of the OCJAAF family. This Page is reserved in their loving memory and in our prayers for our OCJAAF families.
GONE TOO SOON.....
We say goodbye to some of our family members this new season. We are deeply saddened for the loss of these loved ones and hope our tribute to their lives bring comfort to their families in knowing that others do care and we will remember them in 2009.

HELLO TEAM CERRITOS & OCJAAF FRIENDS…
I bring you sad news today, on Tuesday, May 05, 2009, at 1:30 PM, we lost one our boys to crime….
Draysean Earl (#9) was shot and killed by a drive by shooter. Earl, as we all called him was a captain and the leader on Cerritos Steelers', Coach Tee's Jr. Midget team that stood up against some of the strongest teams in OCJAAF and overcame obstacles that most teams could not have. They fought their way all the way to the Super Bowl. We are all proud of Earl and his teammates. One obstacle Earl didn't see coming was a cowardly drive-by shooter. Folks…. we lost a CHAMPION!!!...and a kid that worked his behind off to be the best that he could be. Earl was headed to Mater Dei High School and a promising future in life as well as football. I always say life is short, but it was definitely too short for 13 year old Draysean Earl. Our prayers go out to Earl's family and Friends. Thanks,
Monroe Alexander
Cerritos President

Granddaughter to OCJAAF Members..LAURA and LARRY OROZCO
LITTLE ANGEL
God sent an Angel to the earth...
The sweetest angel too
and for such a tiny little thing,
she had so much to do.
She knew she did not have
much time upon this earth to stay,
so she did not waste a second;
she got started right away.
Her eyes were bright and aparkly,
she took in every turn.
She did not miss a single thing,
because Alyssa came to learn!
God sent her here to touch the
hearts of those he could not reach...
She taught them courage, strength and faith,
because Angel came to teach.
Her tiny little body
was so full of God above,
you felt it when you held her,
because Alyssa came to love.
In five short months she managed
what many never will.
When she went home to Jesus,
her purpose was fulfilled.
She learned and taught, loved and played,
she learned her lessons well.
I know he was so proud of her
when she went home to dwell.
But when I miss her OH-SO-MUCH,
I can almost hear him say,
please understand, her work was done...
Alyssa did not come to stay.

The Funeral services for our dear personal friend and OCJAAF friend Charlie Wilkins were great, 3 hours of total tribute, such a tender, loving man that we all became to love and respect. I was sad to hear of his passing but I am so impressed with his life's accomplishments, there are so few who can give as Charlie has and I always have great admiration for people such as this...it's about heart, it's about caring for others. He will forever remain in our hearts and our memories as long as we remain hear to carry on. Here is a man that sang at his own Funeral, that's right they played music that he recorded, even after death he still amazes me. I was very proud to sit in the audience and listen to all of his family and friends celebrate his life…I will miss you my friend...Bob Barna

VALERIE AUBERT-YARBROUGH, Inglewood
Mourns the loss of her father: CLAUDE AUBERT
Dear Valerie:
We are so sad at the news of your father's passing. I can still remember when my dad left this world for a better place--and it is just the thought that he is in a better place that helped me then and now to cope with his loss. You now have your "Angel in Heaven" to look over you, so you better be good---he can see you!You have been with OCJAAF a long time and have given so much of yourself and your wisdom to it's parents and children. I want to let you know that we are here for you now and always. You are part of this OCJAAF Family as well as the rest of your family.
Suzy and I are proud to be part of the Claude Aubert Family from Mom-Willie Mae Aubert to Valerie, her brother Ronnie (one of 10 siblings), Jermel, Tamika, the endless Aunts, Uncles, and masses of grandchildren (thanks to Jermel), you will be in our thoughts and hearts. We just want to lift up prayers for peace and comfort during this difficult time.
I would like everyone to know that Valerie Aubert-Yarbrough is an OCJAAF Mom, an OCJAAF Grandmother, and Inglewood Board Member, an OCJAAF Commissioner's Staff Member for many, many years, and now the daughter of Heaven's newest Angel: Claude Aubert.
The sorrow is shared by everyone who knew and loved Claude Aubert, we will offer up prayers and family suppport during this trying time.
