When does season start and end?
The season usually begins the last weekend in February or first weekend in March and runs through May.

When are the games played?
Each team will play one game during the week and one game on Saturday. T-ball will only play games on Saturday.

When are the practices?
The practice schedule will be up to the team manager. Typically the teams will practice one or two days during the week.

Where do we play?
All games will be played at Martin Luther King Park in Oceanside. The park is located on Mesa Drive between Rancho Del Oro and College. The Junior divisions will play some of the games at other Oceanside fields.

How many games do we play?
All levels will play a 20 game season execpt T-ball, which will play a 10 game season.

What equipment will my child need?
Your child will need his or her own glove and baseball shoes are suggested. No metal cleats. Many of the players have their own bat and helmet, but this is not mandatory. Each team is issued bats and helmets for everyone to use. Catchers gear is also provided to each team.

What does the league provide?
The league will provide fields, umpires and uniforms (including hat and jersey) and insurance for each of the players.

Does the league provide any financial aid?
The league can provide financial assistance under special circumstances and will be evaluated on a case by case basis. You must contact the league for more information.

How are teams formed?
For T-ball and AA levels, the teams are selected based on geography. We try to create teams with players which live within close proximity to each other. For AAA, Majors and Juniors teams are selected through a draft process. After try outs are completed, the league holds a draft for each league. During the draft, each of the team managers select elegible players from the draft.

Do I have to try out?
Try-outs are mandatory for all players wishing to play in AA, AAA, Majors and Juniors. Those wishing to play in T-ball do not need to try out.

What division will my child play in?
The league is comprised of 5 divisions: T-ball, AA, AAA, Majors and Juniors. Position in each division is determined by the players age and ability.

Can I request a coach?
You may request a coach for T-ball and AA only.

Can my child play with a buddy?
You may request to play together with a buddy for T-ball and AA only.

How do I get involved?
The league is run entirely with volunteers. We are always looking for people to help coach, umpire, snack bar support, sponsorship and much more. We also have board member elections at the end of each season for those who are interested. For more info on how you can help, please contact ONLL.
