2008-09 Season Results:
Congratulations to former Jr. Tiger Jon Bromeier for placing 2nd at Army Nationals and Dominic O'Neil for placing 6th! Everyone else took butt kickings but we had a great time!
JR. TIGERS TAKE SEVEN TO STATE, BRING HOME FIVE MEDALS AND PLACE 8TH IN TEAM SCORING! Columbia, MO:
The Jr. Tiger's sent five wrestlers to the MO. USA state tournament in Columbia, MO. at the Hearns Center and boy did they go on a rampage! Among the five medalists' were a 2nd place (Jon Bromeier), 3rd place (Kurtis Leible), 4th place (Jake Lowry), 6th place (Austin Turner), and the program's first USA state champion in Luke Lowry! What an amazing feat as the JT's racked up 29 team points, good for 8th place, in only their second year of wrestling USA. Coach Lowry, as promised, cried like a freaking baby (Panzy!) after Luke won the championship!
Unfortunately, this also represents the end of two fine wrestlers little league careeers in Jon Bromeier and Jake Lowry. These two young men have been outstanding leaders, fine wrestlers, and good kids and will be missed. However, I have a sneaky suspicion that they may pop up at a tournament that happens across the road from the Hearns in a couple of years. Thanks for being part of the program gentlemen.
It's really hard to imagine that three seasons ago we had no USA team at all and next week we will be taking six kids to USA state! Watch for Coach Lowry to shed some tears as both of his son's participate and he begins to realize it is the last time he will coach Jake, his 8th grader.
Congratulations to Luke Lowry for becoming the first Liberty National Champion in our team's history! Last but certainly not least, congratulations to Jon Bromeier for winning his first AAU state championship at Lafayette!
