Cary Harger Varsity Assistant

Cary Harger

Position: Varsity Assistant Profile: Cary Harger began coaching at Oakridge High School in 1995. Heading into the 2010 season Cary’s record as an assistant is 150-34. In 1994, he volunteered as a varsity assistant coach for Grand Haven High School (a 5-4 record) while doing his student teaching. He serves as the offensive and defensive line coach and Special Teams coordinator. Previously, Cary was a four year varsity letter winner for Hope College (1990-93) playing guard and center. At Oakridge High School (1986-89) under Coach Schugars, Cary was a two way starter on the offensive and defensive line. Cary was awarded an Assistant Coach of the Year award by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association in 2008. Coach Harger teaches high school biology at Oakridge, as well as serving as the boys track team assistant coach. He is married and has two children.
