DJ Ritz Headed to Northwood Institute
The Oakridge Football Family is very proud to announce that DJ Ritz has signed a letter of intent and scholarship offer from Northwood Institute. Northwood is a Division II school that competes in the same conference as Grand Valley, Northern Michigan and Saginaw Valley. Oakridge Football is looking forward to see DJ further his education and his opportunity to continue to play football.

Detroit Free Press All State Teams
The Detroit Free Press recently named their All State Division 5 Football Teams. Outside linebacker DJ Ritz was honored by being named captain of the Defensive Team. Running back TJ Patton and Kicker Doug Pederson were also named to the Offensive All State Team. Receiving honorable mention were receiver Jake Huck, Offensive Lineman Jake Morehouse, and running back Cordero Ibarra. Congratulations to these young men and all of their teammates for these honors!

Thank You Oakridge Football Fans
The 2005 Oakridge Football Team would like to thank the enormous crowd of supporters who attended the "Celebration Rally" at the High School this past Sunday. The true fans of Oakridge Football came out in droves to congratulate the Eagle Football Team for their Division 5 state Championship Title. We are proud to be part of a community of fans who understand the hard work and dedication it takes to be part of one of the many outstanding programs at Oakridge Public Schools. The Football Program would also like to thank the many businesses and volunteer workers who donated food, time and money during our playoff run. The coaches would also like to thank the many former players as well as coaches around the State and Country (College and High School) who have sent letters, Emails and called with words of encouragement for our staff and players during our playoff run.

Oakridge junior defensive back Andy Potts is recovering after he suffered a Grade 2 concussion during Friday's game at Montague, said Oakridge coach Jack Schugars.
Potts was injured early in the game and taken to the hospital. He is in school but is not expected to play again for at least two weeks.
